OSEHRA'S MISSION IS TO BUILD AND SUPPORT AN OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY OF USERS, DEVELOPERS, SERVICE PROVIDERS AND RESEARCHERS ENGAGED IN ADVANCING ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD SOFTWARE AND RELATED HEATLH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.

ANNUAL CONFERENCEOSEHRA'S ANNUAL OPEN SOURCE SUMMIT AND WORKSHOP. THE SUMMIT INCLUDES A PRE-SESSION FOR SPECIAL INTERESTS SUCH AS INTERNATIONAL PROVIDERS, A PLENARY SESSION FEATURING SENIOR SPEAKERS FROM GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY, AND MULTIPLE PRESENTATION TRACKS DESIGNED TO SPAN THE INTERESTS OF THE OPEN SOURCE EHR COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION, TECHNICAL "TOWN HALL" SESSIONS ARE FEATURED TO PROVIDE AN INTERACTIVE VENUE FOR TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS, DEMONSTRATIONS, AND DISCUSSION. THE OSEHRA SUMMIT IS ALSO THE PREMIER EVENT FOR INTERACTION BETWEEN MEMBERS OF THE OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY AND THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA), WITH MULTIPLE VA PARTICIPANTS FROM ACROSS THE DEPARTMENT. MEMBERS OF THE OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY GATHER AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE TO SHARE INFORMATION AND COLLABORATE ON DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD OF HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY SERVICESOSEHRA PROVIDES ONGOING SERVICES TO THE OPEN SOURCE HEALTHCARE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMMUNITY, INCLUDING A DEDICATED WEBSITE, A CODE REPOSITORY, AND ORGANIZATION / FACILITATION OF WORKING GROUPS TO DEVELOP CODE CONTRIBUTIONS, PROCESSES AND STANDARDS. ON-LINE FACILITIES OPERATED IN THE SUPPORT OF THE REPOSITORY INCLUDE APPLICATIONS FOR CODE SUBMISSION, CODE REVIEW, TESTING, BUG TRACKING, AND CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT. SPECIALIZED WEBSITE FEATURES SUCH AS AN ARCHITECTURAL VISUALIZATION HAVE ALSO BEEN DEVELOPED AND MAINTAINED BY OSEHRA. THESE FACILITIES BENEFIT BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS WITH MEMBERS HAVING INCREASED ACCESS AND CAPABILITIES.
