OUR FARMERS AND RANCHERS AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS PROVIDES EDUCATION TRAINING MARKETING CONSULTATION AND SUPPORT TO FARMERS AND RANCHERS IN CENTRAL OREGON. WE ANNUALLY PUBLISH AND DISTRIBUTE THE CENTRAL OREGON FOOD AND FARM DIRECTORY TO OVER 30,000 HOUSEHOLDS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF HOW TO ACCESS FRESH LOCAL FOOD FROM FARMERS AND RANCHERS. WE OFFER GRANT PROGRAMS THAT HELP FUND ON-FARM EFFICIENCY PROJECTS COORDINATE WORKSHOPS AND NETWORKING NIGHTS TO IMPROVE TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND PROVIDE GENERAL SUPPORT AS NEEDED FOR PRIMARILY BEGINNER FARMERS AND RANCHERS. ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS ARE INTENDED TO BUILD A MORE RESILIENT AND SUSTAINABLE FOOD AND FARMING COMMUNITY IN CENTRAL OREGON.
OTHER PROGRAM SUPPORT PROVIDED BY DONATIONS
HDFFA FOOD ACCESS IS INVESTED IN A JUST AND EQUITABLE FOOD SYSTEM WHERE PEOPLE HAVE ACCESS TO QUALITY FRESH FOOD REGARDLESS OF THEIR INCOME LEVEL. THROUGH OUR FOOD ACCESS PROGRAMS GROW & GIVE AND FRESH HARVEST KITS WE STRENGTHEN THE TIES BETWEEN TRADITIONAL FOOD SECURITY EFFORTS FOOD BANK AND BUILDING HEALTHY FOOD SYSTEMS FARM TO PLATE. DUE TO OUR EFFORTS IN 2020 13,426 POUNDS OF LOCAL PRODUCE WAS COLLECTED AND REDISTRIBUTED THROUGH NEIGHBORIMPACT OUR LOCAL BANK NETWORK OF OVER 55+ FOOD PANTRIES. IN ADDITION 775 FRESH HARVEST KITS READY TO MAKE MEAL KITS INCLUDING LOCAL PRODUCE PANTRY STAPLES SEASONINGS AND A RECIPE WERE DISTRIBUTED ACROSS DESCHUTES COUNTY AND THE WARM SPRINGS RESERVATION.
