THE INSTITUTE ON SCIENCE FOR GLOBAL POLICY (ISGP) DESIGNS, ORGANIZES, AND CONVENES CONFERENCES, PROGRAMS, AND RELATED ACTIVITIES INTENDED TO SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE THE ACCURATE COMMUNICATION OF CREDIBLE SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL IDEAS, EVIDENCE-BASED UNDERSTANDING, AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO THOSE GOVERNMENTAL, PRIVATE SECTOR, AND SOCIETAL LEADERS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHAPING MAJOR DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL POLICIES AND TO THE PUBLIC WRIT LARGE.

A BOOK, INCLUDING POSITION PAPERS, NOT-FOR-ATTRIBUTION DEBATE SUMMARIES, AND THE EVIDENCE-BASED OPTIONS AND ACTIONAL NEXT STEPS, FROM THE CONFERENCE ON "SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE: THE ROLE OF PLANT BREEDING INNOVATION" WAS PUBLISHED (ISBN: 978-1-7334375-2-3). THE PROGRAM AND CONFERENCE WAS ORGANIZED, FACILITATED, MODERATED, AND CONVENED BY THE ISGP WITH SUPPORT FROM THE AMERICAN SEED TRADE ASSOCIATION AND EURO SEEDS. BECAUSE OF COVID- 19 RESTRICTIONS, THE CONFERENCE WAS CONVENED IN AN INTERNET FORMAT ON NOVEMBER 17-18, 2020.
THE ISGP CONTINUED TO DEVELOP ITS PROGRAM ON HYDROGEN WITH A FEASIBILITY STUDY. THE ISGP THEN PROPOSED A CONFERENCE "PATHWAY TO HYDROGEN ENERGY FUTURE- AND ISGP STAFF WORKED TO INTERVIEW SUBJECT-MATTER EXPERTS AND DEVELOP TOPICS FOR THE INTERNET CONFERENCE, WHICH WILL SPAN 15 TIME ZONES, AND IS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 2022. COINCIDENTLY THE ISGP IS DEVELOPING SIMILAR HYDROGEN PROGRAMS IN AUSTRALIA AND UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.
ISGP EMBARKED ON A PROGRAM CALLED "FORESIGHT FROM THE COVID -19 PANDEMIC," PARTNERING INITIALLY WITH THE GLOBAL VIRAL NETWORK. INITIAL PLANNING CONCEIVED OF A THREE-CONFERENCE FORMAT. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO CRITICALLY EXAMINE THE POST-COVID PRIORITIES NEEDED TO ACCURATELY CHARACTERIZE CONTINUING NATIONAL/GLOBAL IMPACTS OF COVID-19 AS WELL AS TO IDENTIFY WITH FORESIGHT DECISIONS NEEDED TO PREPARE FOR POTENTIAL/LIKELY CONSEQUENCES FROM YET UNRECOGNIZED INFECTIOUS DISEASE OUTBREAKS. ISGP CONTINUED TO WORK ON AN AGROBIOSECURITY PROGRAM, RENAMED BIODEFENSE BIOSECURITY PROGRAM. ISGP WAS APPROACHED TO FACILITATE THE UNITED NATIONS FOOD SYSTEMS SUMMIT. THE PROGRAM, HOWEVER, WAS DISCONTINUED.
