NUTRITION SCIENCE INITIATIVE("NUSI") PROGRAM CONSISTS OF TWO INITIATIVES: (I) RESEARCH NUTRITION AND DIET, AND (II) EDUCATE POLICY MAKERS, THE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT, HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. NUSI FUNDS INDEPENDENT SCIENTISTS WHO PERFORM EXPERIMENTS THAT PROVIDE DEFINITIVE ANSWERS TO IMPORTANT QUESTIONS THAT HAVE THE ABILITY TO REDUCE THE INDIVIDUAL, ECONOMIC, AND SOCIAL BURDEN OF OBESITY AND OBESITY-RELATED CHRONIC DISEASE BY IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF SCIENCE IN NUTRITION AND OBESITY RESEARCH.
