THE MIDWEST CONFERENCE OVERSEES THE INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC PROGRAMS OF ITS MEMBERS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE CONDUCTED IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH THE OVERALL EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE AND ITS RESPECTIVE MEMEBERS. THE CONFERENCE WILL BE CONTROLLED BY THE PRESIDENTS OF THE MEMBER INSTITUTIONS. FURTHER, THE CONFERENCE BELIEVES THAT THE QUALITY AND CONDUCT OF COACHES AND ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT STAFF ARE OF SIGNIFICANCE IN ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING THE VOCATIONAL VALIDITY OF OUR ATHLETIC PROGRAMS. FINALLY, OUR PURPOSE IS TO INITIATE, STIMULATE AND IMPROVE OUR INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC PROGRAMS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PARTICIPANTS AND TO THEREBY PROMOTE EDUCATION, FITNESS, RECREATION, AND ATHLETIC EXCELLANCE. THE MEMBER INSTITUTIONS ARE COMMITTED TO MAINTAINING AND ADVANCING THESE PURPOSES.
