THE NPAA CONTINUES TO SUPPORT MEMBER VOLUNTEERS WHO DONATE THEIR TIME AND KNOWLEDGE TO TEACH ANGLERS OF ALL AGES, BUT ESPECIALLY YOUNG ANGLERS HOW TO FISH. THE NPAA REINSTATED SUPPORT FOR IN PERSON ANGLING EDUCATIONAL EVENTS IN 2021 UTILIZING A GRANT FROM THE FUTURE ANGLER FOUNDATION THAT SUPPLIES RODS AND REELS AND T-SHIRTS TO HAND OUT TO YOUTH ATTENDEES AT THESE POPULAR EVENTS. THE NPAA ANNUAL CONFERENCE CONTINUES TO BE A KEY EVENT FOR THE ASSOCIATION AND WAS SCHEDULED FOR MID-OCTOBER 2021, BUT CANCELLED DUE TO COVID CONCERNS. THE EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR EARLY 2023 AND WILL INCLUDE EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS THAT GIVE NPAA MEMBERS THE SKILLS AND INFORMATION THEY NEED TO RUN SUCCESSFUL ANGLING RELATED BUSINESSES. THE NPAA IS ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN ADVOCATING FOR RESPONSIBLE USE OF OUR AQUATIC RESOURCES ON A NATIONAL BASIS. THE PRESIDENT OF THE NPAA IS A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN SPORTFISHING ASSOCIATION'S GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS AND COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE AND AS SUCH ATTENDED AN IN PERSON MEETING OF THE ASA GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE IN EARLY OCTOBER 2021. HE ALSO ATTENDED VIRTUAL MEETINGS FOR BOTH COMMITTEES IN MARCH OF 2021. THEIR EFFORTS HELP MAINTAIN INTEREST IN ANGLING AND A DIRECT CONDUIT FOR STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES TO LEARN ABOUT THE NEEDS OF THE NEARLY 55 MILLION ANGLERS IN THE UNITED STATES.
