SURFING MADONNA OCEANS PROJECT STRIVES TO ENHANCE THE COMMUNITY THROUGH CULTURAL PROGRAMS SUCH AS FACILITATING ART SHOWS, PROVIDING A PLATFORM FOR PUBLIC BOOK READINGS IN OUR FREE LIABRARY, AND SHOWCASING LOCAL MUSICIANS.THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER MONTHS WE FACILITATE SURF CAMPS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS YOUTH. WORKING WITH A LOCAL SURFING SCHOOL, WE SERVE APPROXIMATELY 160 SPECIAL NEEDS YOUTH, GIVING THEM AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THE THRILL OF RIDING THE WAVES.

ENCINITAS HALF MARATHON-RELATED EXPENDITURES, SURFING MADONNA BEACH RUN EXPENDITURES, MOSAIC PROJECT, PAVERS ACCESS PROGRAM FOR PERSONAL WITH DISABILITIES, PUBLIC ARTS, RESEARCH & EDUCATION, AND SCHOLARSHIPS ALL RELATING TO OUR OCEANS, AND THEIR BENEFITS. CITY OF SOLANA BEACH AND CITY OF ENCINITAS OCEAN, BEACH AND PARK-RELATED PROJECTS.


PROVIDING FREE ONE-ON-ONE SURF LESSONS FOR OVER 300 CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AND WOUNDED WARRIORS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THERE ARE 25-30 PARTICIPANTS IN EACH 4-HOUR SURF CAMP. FOOD, WATER, SUNBLOCK, SHIRTS, MEDALS, CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION, PICTURES, VIDEOS, WETSUITS AND SURFBOARDS ARE ALL PROVIDED IN THIS "CLASS OCEANS AND PARKS" PROJECT.


THE OCEAN APPRECIATION, RESTORATION, AND AWARENESS PROGRAM FOR SURFING MADONNA OCEANS PROJECT IS DEDICATED TO SHARING THE BEAUTY AND BENEFITS OF OUR LOCAL OCEAN AND JUST HOW FRAGILE OUR LOCAL ECOSYSTEM IS. USING OUR SCUBA GEAR, CAMERAS, AND SOCIAL MEDIA, WE CREATE AND SHARE UNDERWATER VIDEO TOURS WITH THE PUBLIC SO THEY CAN SEE THE BEAUTY AND ABUNDANCE OF OUR UNDERWATER COASTLINE. ONGOING ACTIVITIES COULD INCLUDE HARBOR CLEANUPS AND DOCUMENTING FISH POPULATION IN THE MARINE PROTECTED AREAS.
