ON-DEMAND - CHOOSE YOUR OWN SCIENCE ADVENTURES! PROGRAM - IS AN ON-DEMAND VIRTUAL, HANDS-ON SCIENCE FUN FIELD TRIP THAT PROVIDES INDIVIDUALIZED SCIENCE KITS FOR EACH STUDENT. THE KITS, ALONG WITH THEIR FUN, INTERACTIVE VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS AIM TO MAKE SCIENCE COME ALIVE, ALLOWING STUDENTS TO HAVE FUN DISCOVERING SCIENCE CONCEPTS, WHILE ALSO ALIGNING WITH SCIENCE STATE STANDARDS. WE CREATED 36 SCIENCE-THEMED PROGRAMS TO CHOOSE FROM AND ENGAGED OVER 23,000 STUDENTS ACROSS 350 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS. DESPITE FACING SEVERE FINANCIAL OBSTACLES DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, WE CONTINUED TO WORK HARD TO ACHIEVE OUR MISSION. WE'VE NOT ONLY OPENED DOORS TO THE WONDERS OF THE SCIENTIFIC WORLD FOR MORE KIDS BUT ALSO TURNED LEARNING INTO AN EXCITING, SELF-GUIDED ADVENTURE. WITH EYES SET ON A LONG-TERM GOAL, WE ASPIRE TO EXPAND ACROSS ALL 50 STATES, SECURING ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO EXTEND OUR REACH INTO MORE RURAL SCHOOLS, ENABLING MORE STUDENTS TO EXPLORE THE HANDS-ON FUN REALMS OF SCIENCE.
OUR 'IN-SCHOOL HANDS-ON SCIENCE FUN FIELD TRIP' PROGRAM REACHED OVER 26,000 STUDENTS THROUGH 39 DIFFERENT SCIENCE-THEMED PROGRAMS CONDUCTED IN MORE THAN 1,200 CLASSROOMS WITHIN A 20-MILE RADIUS OF THE RALEIGH, NC - TRIANGLE AREA. OUR TRAVELING SCIENTISTS PROGRAM IS TRANSFORMING CLASSROOMS INTO HANDS-ON FUN SCIENCE LABORATORIES WHERE STUDENTS DIVE INTO HANDS-ON EXPERIMENTS, MEETING AND EXCEEDING THE NC SCIENCE ESSENTIAL STANDARDS. FACING FINANCIAL HURDLES LEFT BY THE COVID-19 SHUTDOWN, WE ARE DETERMINED TO KEEP TRYING TO SECURE ADDITIONAL FUNDING AND EXTEND THIS ENRICHING EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE TO MORE SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS, ESPECIALLY IN RURAL AREAS. WE ARE CATAPULTING TOWARDS OUR LONG-TERM DREAM OF OPENING DOORS TO A UNIVERSE OF DISCOVERY, IGNITING MORE YOUTHFUL CURIOSITY WITH AFFORDABLE, HANDS-ON, INTERACTIVE SCIENCE EDUCATION!
CAMPS AND OTHER SCIENCE FUN EXPERIENCES - OUR VARIETY OF EXTRA PROGRAMMING LIKE SUMMER CAMPS, AFTER-SCHOOL SESSIONS, SCIENCE NIGHTS, AND OTHER STEM ACTIVITIES, TURN LEARNING INTO A FUN, SCIENCE-FILLED ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND. WE WELCOMED AROUND 300 CAMPERS OVER THE SUMMER, AND ALSO HOSTED SCHOOL STEM NIGHTS AND AFTER-SCHOOL SCIENCE PROGRAMS. OUR PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO MAKE LEARNING SCIENCE A THRILLING ADVENTURE WHERE STUDENTS CAN EXPLORE NATURE, INTERACT WITH LIVE ANIMALS, MIX CHEMICALS, AND DO MUCH MORE, ALL WHILE MAKING FRIENDS IN A SAFE AND FUN SETTING. EVERY PROGRAM MEETS THE NC STATE SCIENCE ESSENTIAL STANDARDS, MAKING SURE LEARNING IS FUN AND EDUCATIONAL. LOOKING AHEAD, WE AIM TO FIND MORE FUNDING TO REDUCE CAMP COSTS, OFFER MORE SCHOLARSHIPS, AND EXPAND OUR AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS, SO MORE STUDENTS CAN ENJOY THE EXCITEMENT OF SCIENCE AND FRIENDSHIP, NO MATTER THEIR FINANCIAL SITUATION.
