CONSUMER DIRECTED SERVICES THAT ALLOW FOR THE PROVISION OF PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANT SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY OTHERWISE HAVE TO LIVE IN A NURSING HOME OR OTHER INSTITUTIONAL SETTING. INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES THAT ASSISTS PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES TO GAIN INDEPENDENCE THROUGH ADVOCACY, TRAINING, INFORMATION AND REFERRALS. INDIVIDUALS ALSO RECEIVED ASSISTANCE IN ORDER TO ACQUIRE MATERIALS OR IMPROVE CONDITIONS THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO BE LESS DEPENDENT UPON OTHERS. 316 PEOPLE WERE ASSISTED THROUGH CONSUMERS DIRECTED SERVICES.
THE IN-HOME PROGRAM ALLOWS MERIL'S LICENSED NURSES TO HELP WITH MEDICATION SETUPS, DIABETIC NAIL CARE, SKIN MONITORING, AND VITAL SIGN CHECKS. MERIL'S TRAINED PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANTS (PCAS) ASSIST PARTICIPANTS WITH PERSONAL CARE TASKS, SUCH AS COOKING, CLEANING, SHOPPING, AND BATHING
INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO HELP INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES LIVE INDEPENDENTLY AS POSSIBLE AND PARTICIPATE AS THEY CHOOSE IN THE COMMUNITY. CLIENTS DO THIS BY ACCESSING ONE OR MORE OF THE FIVE CORE SERVICES: ADVOCACY, INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, PEER SUPPORT, AND TRANSITION SERVICES. 333 PEOPLE WERE ASSISTED THROUGH INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES.
