JUSTICE FOR OUR NEIGHBORS-NEBRASKA IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION WELCOMING IMMIGRANTS INTO OUR COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING FREE, HIGH-QUALITY IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES, EDUCATION, AND ADVOCACY.

LEGAL SERVICES - ILC PROVIDES FREE IMMIGRATION LEGAL REPRESENTATION IN STATE AND FEDERAL COURT AND BEFORE FEDERAL IMMIGRATION AGENCIES, INCLUDING THE OMAHA IMMIGRATION COURT. ILC HAS 24 ATTORNEYS AND SEVEN DOJ ACCREDITED REPRESENTATIVES THAT SPECIALIZE IN THE MOST COMPLEX AND TIME-INTENSIVE CASE TYPES, SERVING THE MOST VULNERABLE IMMIGRANTS IN NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA. OUR TEAM HELPS IMMIGRANTS THAT ARE OFTEN SCARED AND CONFUSED BY THE U.S LEGAL SYSTEM AND ARE UNABLE TO AFFORD PRIVATE COUNSEL.
RESETTLEMENT SERVICES - THE RESETTLEMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT PROVIDES HOLISTIC AND CULTURALLY EFFECTIVE RESETTLEMENT SERVICES THAT EMPOWER NEWCOMERS TO THRIVE IN THEIR NEW LIVES. OUR TEAM OPERATES PROGRAMS INTENDED TO MEET NEWCOMERS' BASIC NEEDS AND ENABLE REFUGEE COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. OUR SERVICES ARE AIMED AT PROVIDING REFUGEES BOTH IMMEDIATE SUPPORT UPON ARRIVAL TO NEBRASKA AND LONG-TERM SUPPORT TO SUSTAIN REFUGEES PROGRESS AND WELL-BEING AS THEY FULLY ACCLIMATE TO THE U.S. FOR THE INITIAL 90 DAYS POST ARRIVAL, ILC'S PROGRAMMING INCLUDES HOUSING, ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE, SCHOOL ENROLLMENTS AND OTHER BASIC NEEDS, ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES, JOB READINESS TRAINING AND PLACEMENT, CAREER DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION ASSISTANCE, AND ANY ADDITIONAL CASE MANAGEMENT AS NEEDED.
SOCIAL WORK SERVICES - ILC'S SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT PROVIDES HOLISTIC CARE THAT GOES BEYOND THE NEED FOR LEGAL REPRESENTATION, FOCUSING ON MEETING NEEDS SUCH AS HOUSING, FOOD, TRANSPORTATION, SCHOOL REGISTRATION, CONNECTIONS TO FAMILY COUNSELING, AND MORE. THE SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT HAS CULTIVATED CONNECTIONS TO FAMILY RESOURCES THAT INCREASE THE STABILIZATION OF THE ENTIRE FAMILY SYSTEM, WHICH IN TURN HELPS THE FAMILY FEEL MORE PREPARED TO GO THROUGH THE IMMIGRATION PROCESS.
