THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN FAMILY MEDICINE GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION IN ORDER TO MEET THE HEALTH CARE NEEDS OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC.

THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR PROGRAM DIRECTOR DEVELOPMENT (NIPDD) PROVIDES INSTRUCTION, EDUCATION AND FORMATIVE EXPERIENCES FOR OUR MEMBERS THROUGH A FELLOWSHIP DESIGNED FOR FAMILY PHYSICIAN EDUCATORS WHO WANT TO ENHANCE AND DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS.
THE CLINIC FIRST COLLABORATIVE STARTED IN FEBRUARY OF 2018. IT IS A COHORT OF PROGRAMS WORKING WITH AFMRD AND CONSULTANTS FOR THE CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE IN PRIMARY CARE LOOKING FOR INNOVATION IN RESIDENT PHYSICIANS' CLINIC EXPERIENCE. ONE IN-PERSON MEETING AND SIX WEBINARS COMPRISE THE COLLABORATIVE.
THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATES IN NUMEROUS ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS THAT ENHANCE FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY EDUCATION AND ADDRESS COMMON ISSUES OF INTEREST AND CONCERN.
THE ORGANIZATION ENGAGES IN SEVERAL SPECIAL PROJECTS INCLUDING THE AFMRD WEBSITE (WWW.AFMRD.ORG) AND THE PD TOOLBOX PROJECT.
