THE MISSION OF THE CHILDRENS CENTER OF MEDINA COUNTY IS TO REDUCE TRAUMA BY PROVIDING A PATHWAY TO HEALING FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY ABUSE, NEGLECT AND EXPLOITATION.

CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER/FOSTER CARE VISITATION SERVICE THE CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER IS DEDICATED TO REDUCING TRAUMA TO CHILD VICTIMS THROUGH AN INTERAGENCY APPROACH WHICH WILL MINIMIZE THE NUMBER OF INTERVIEWS REQUIRED, PROVIDE SPECIALIZED ON-SITE MEDICAL EVALUATION AND TREATMENT, AND PROVIDE SPECIALIZED INTERVENTION TO VICTIMS OF MALTREATMENT AND THEIR FAMILIES, INCLUDING ONGOING ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT. DURING OUR FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, 136 CHILDREN WERE SERVED IN THE CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER AND 160 CHILDREN WERE SERVED THROUGH OUR FOSTER CARE VISITATION PROGRAM.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH/AWARENESS PROGRAMS - THE CHILDRENS CENTER IS COMMITTED TO PROTECTING THE CHILDREN OF MEDINA COUNTY BY PROVIDING A VARIETY OF OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY AWARENESS PROGRAMS. OUR OUTREACH PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF CHILD ABUSE, WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO PREVENT IT.
HUMAN TRAFFICKING - OUR HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION TRAINING IS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE COMMUNITY MEMBERS ON WHAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS AND HOW TO PREVENT IT, WHO IS AT RISK AND HOW TO HELP VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING. DURING OUR FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, 20 ADULTS WERE TRAINED UNDER THIS PROGRAM.
