A LEADING RESOURCE IN THE PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT, AND THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, INTERVENTION, RESEARCH AND TREATMENT, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE COMMUNITY.

INTERVENTION & TREATMENT PROGRAMS: EXPENSES: $1,582,976. IN 2021, 684 CHILD VICTIMS OF ABUSE WERE FORENSICALLY INTERVIEWED BY OUR MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAM, 3,432 VISITS BY CHILD VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES WERE MADE TO OUR THERAPISTS. 851 COUNSELING CONTACTS WERE MADE BY OUR CRISIS COUNSELORS, INCLUDING BOTH FACE-TO-FACE AND TELEPHONE CONTACTS. DONATED PROGRAM SERVICES CONSISTED OF 3,535 INTERN AND VOLUNTEER HOURS VALUED AT $87,840.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: EXPENSES: $265,510. IN 2021, 5,293 INDIVIDUALS WERE TRAINED IN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WITH A FOCUS ON HOW TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF ABUSE FOR FAMILIES, SCHOOLS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS WHO WORK WITH CHILDREN. THE NURTURING OAKLAND PARENTS PROGRAM IS FOR AT-RISK FAMILIES WITH KIDS AGED 5 TO 12 AND TEACHES THEM TO BUILD COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND FAMILY BONDS, HELPING REDUCE THE RISK THAT CHILDREN WILL EVER BECOME VICTIMS OF ABUSE OR NEGLECT.
COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES: EXPENSES: $247,274. IN 2021, 65 FOSTER CARE CHILDREN WERE ACTIVE CASES THAT RECEIVED SERVICES. OUR COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES PROGRAM PROVIDES THESE CHILDREN WITH MUCH NEEDED CONSISTENCY, WITH VOLUNTEERS PROVIDING GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT IN AND OUT OF COURT PROCEEDINGS, UNTIL THE CHILD LEAVES THE SYSTEM.75 CASA VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED 1,466 HOURS OF SERVICE VALUED AT $36,438.
