CEDAR VALLEY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IS AN ECUMENICAL CHRISTIAN HOUSING MINISTRY DEDICATED TO BUILDING AND REHABILITATING SIMPLE, DECENT AND AFFORDABLE HOMES IN LINN AND BENTON COUNTIES AND MAKING DECENT, AFFORDABLE SHELTER FOR ALL OF GOD'S PEOPLE A MATTER OF CONSCIENCE AND ACTION. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES ZERO-INTEREST MORTGAGES FOR DESERVING FAMILIES WHO WOULDN'T TYPICALLY QUALIFY FOR A TRADITIONAL HOME LOAN, ENLISTING THE HELP OF COMPANIES, FAITH-BASED GROUPS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS TO FUND AND BUILD THE HOMES.

THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES THE RESTORE, A THRIFT STORE SELLING DONATED BUILDING MATERIALS. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES A SOURCE OF LOW COST BUILDING MATERIALS FOR THE COMMUNITY, DIVERTS SOLID WASTE FROM AREA LANDFILLS, AND PROMOTES RECYCLING AND REUSE.
