THE FOCUS OF MERCY HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION - CLINTON (THE FOUNDATION) IS TO HELP THE MEDICAL CENTER PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF CARE, IN THE SAFEST ENVIRONMENT TO OUR PATIENTS, RESIDENTS, THEIR FAMILIES AND GUESTS, AND TO ACHIEVE THE BEST POSSIBLE CARE EXPERIENCE. GIFTS TO THE FOUNDATION ARE USED TO ESTABLISH OR ENHANCE PROGRAMS, IMPROVE OR BUILD FACILITIES AND PURCHASE EQUIPMENT THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNAVAILABLE DUE TO BUDGET CONSTRAINTS.FUNDS RAISED THIS YEAR CONTINUED TO HELP COMPLETE THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FOR THE NEW LINEAR ACCELERATOR, THE MACHINE THAT TARGETS AND DESTROYS CANCER CELLS. THE AVAILABILITY OF THE ADVANCED MACHINE ALLOWS RADIATION THERAPY CANCER CARE TO CONTINUE TO BE PROVIDED TO PATIENTS IN THE BI-STATE AREA AND EXPANDS TREATMENT OPTIONS. GIFTS WERE ALSO RECEIVED TO HELP WITH EMERGENCY NEEDS FOR PATIENT SUPPORT, INCLUDING CANCER CARE AND NEWBORN LOSS. IN ADDITION, FUNDS WERE RAISED FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE FOUNDATION ASSISTED IN PURCHASING INFANT WARMERS, CARDIAC EQUIPMENT, CLINICAL AND INFUSION CHAIRS, CT SCANNER, WHEELCHAIR SCALES AND INFANT SCALES, AMONG OTHER PATIENT CARE EQUIPMENT.
