TO ENGAGE ALL PEOPLE IN A MOVEMENT TO CHANGE THE SOCIAL AND POLITICAL SYSTEMS THAT PERPETUATE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. WE DO THIS THROUGH EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND QUALITY SERVICES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

VICTIM SERVICES SUPPORT (COMPREHENSIVE) - FUNDING FOR THIS PROGRAM IS PROVIDED BY THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, CRIME VICTIM ASSISTANCE DIVISION (CVAD), AND INCLUDES FEDERAL AND STATE FUNDING COMPONENTS. THIS PROGRAM SUPPORTS ICADV'S TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SHELTER PROGRAMS AS WELL AS TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO OTHER PROFESSIONALS RELATED TO INTERPERSONAL VIOLENCE. AMONG THE PROGRAM'S GOALS ARE 1.) TO IDENTIFY AND/OR CREATE CULTURALLY SPECIFIC INTERVENTIONS AND PREVENTION STRATEGIES THAT ENSURE THE DIVERSE NEEDS OF VICTIMS/SURVIVORS ARE MET THROUGH ICADV'S CULTURALLY SPECIFIC PROGRAMS; 2.) TO PROVIDE SUPPORT, INTENSIVE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING TO INCREASE ACCESS AND IMPROVE SERVICE QUALITY TO VICTIMS/SURVIVORS WHO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAMS IN IOWA; AND 3.)TO RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS AND KNOWLEDGE CONCERNING THE DYNAMICS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TO ENHANCE SERVICE DELIVERY AND CRISIS RESPONSE TO VICTIMS/SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND THEIR FAMILIES.


FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND SERVICES - PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE NETWORKING AMONG THE LOCAL DIRECT SERVICES COALITIONS AND OTHER COMMITTED INDIVIDUALS TO HELP ELIMINATE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN AND TO ADVOCATE FOR THE WELFARE AND PROTECTION OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVORS.


VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT (VAWA) TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE - PROGRAM PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, TRAINING AND POLICY AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROJECTS STATEWIDE.


OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE SCHOLARSHIPS, FINANCIAL LITERACY AND OTHER PROGRAMS IN SUPPORT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S EXEMPT PURPOSE.
