THE WHEELCHAIR DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM DISTRIBUTED 6,080 WHEELCHAIRS TO INDIVIDUALS IN NINE PROVINCES IN NORTHERN VIETNAM. TRAINING WAS PROVIDED TO ENSURE INDIVIDUALS WILL RECEIVE A PROPERTLY FITTED WHEELCHAIR TO MEET THEIR NEEDS AND ON HOW TO USE THE WHEELCHAIR PROPERLY.
DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN IN NORTHERN VIETNAM AT RISK OF DROPPNG OUT OF SCHOOL RECEIVE THE NECESSARY SUPPORT THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS, NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT, BICYCLES, AND OTHER ASSISTANCE NECESSARY TO KEEP CHILDREN IN SCHOOL TO GIVE THEM A STEPPING STONE TO A BETTER FUTURE. DURING 2023, 228 CHILDREN RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PRE- AND POST- HIGH SCHOOL 27 FAMILIES RECEIVED RICE TO HELP FREE UP FINANCES FOR SCHOOL EXPENSES 10 FAMILIES RECEIVED MEDICAL EXPENSE ASSISTANCE SO THE FAMILY COULD MAINTAIN INCOME STREAMS 27 CHILDREN RECEIVED BACKPACKS CONTAINING SCHOOL SUPPLIES 7 CHILDREN RECEIVED NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT, 7 CHILDREN WERE SUPPORTED WITH SCHOOL LUNCHES, AND 35 CHILDREN RECEIVED BICYCLES TO ALLOW THEM TO ATTEND DISTANT SCHOOLS.
OCASSIONALLY, OPPORTUNITIES WILL EXIST TO IMPROVE LOCAL SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE, SUPPORT THE LIVLIHOOD OF OUR SUPPORTED FAMILIES, ETC. DURING 2023, WE SUPPORTED 26 WOMEN WITH TRAINING TO ALLOW THEM TO ESTABLISH THEIR OWN BUSINESS PRIMARILY RELATED TO SEWING SERVICES TO THEIR COMMUNITIES. AS PART OF THIS PROGRAM 10 WOMEN WERE TRAINED ON HOW TO RAISE AND MARKET CHICKENS. 1,000 CHICKENS WERE DONATED TO ALLOW THEM TO START IMPLEMENTING THEIR TRAINING. ANOTHER PROJECT IMPROVED THE LIBRARY OF A LOCAL SCHOOL.
