MARC, INC. PROVIDES SUPPORT TO MORE THAN 320 ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL AND INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES, LIKE AUTISM AND DOWN SYNDROME, IN DANE AND SAUK COUNTY, WISCONSIN. THESE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED THROUGH SEVEN SEPARATE AND DISTINCT PROGRAM LOCATIONS: MADISON EAST, MADISON WEST, MADISON SOUTH, STOUGHTON, MT. HOREB, WISCONSIN DELLS KALAHARI RESORT (PROJECT SEARCH, PS), VA AND UW HOSPITALS (PS). PROGRAMS AT THESE LOCATIONS MAY INCLUDE SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT, SELF-EMPLOYMENT, DAY SERVICES, AND PRE-VOCATIONAL/PRODUCTION SERVICES. THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF REVENUE FOR THE MARC PROGRAMS IS THE STATE OF WISCONSIN FAMILY CARE PROGRAM. DAY SERVICE PROGRAMS PROVIDE MEANINGFUL ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH EDUCATION, SOCIALIZATION, AND INCLUSION IN THE COMMUNITY. MARC'S GOAL IS TO MEET EACH INDIVIDUAL'S NEED FOR FLEXIBLE AND CUSTOMIZED SERVICES. ACTIVITIES ARE DESIGNED FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL'S ABILITIES AND TO MAXIMIZE PARTICIPATION. ACTIVITIES CAN INCLUDE: ARTS AND CRAFTS, MUSIC AND KARAOKE, COOKING AND BAKING, GARDENING, GROOMING, FISHING, GAMES AND PUZZLES, MOVIES, COFFEE AND SOCIAL TIME, COMMUNITY ADVENTURES, MUSIC, AND TIME WITH ANIMALS. MARC ALSO PROVIDES A VARIETY OF PERSONAL CARE SERVICES: INCONTINENCE CARE, ASSISTANCE WITH TOILETING, RANGE OF MOTION EXERCISE, FEEDING ASSISTANCE INCLUDING TUBE FEEDINGS AND PUREED DIETS OR THICKENED LIQUIDS, MEDICAL ADMINISTRATION/INCLUDING PRN, MONITORING OF SKIN INTEGRITY, AMBULATION ASSISTANCE, SEIZURE PROTOCOLS, PIVOT TRANSFERS, LIFT TRANSFERS (HOYER), EZ STAND, WALKERS, WHEELCHAIRS, AND COLOSTOMY CARE. MEMORY LOSS PROGRAMMING IS OFFERED AT MARC FOR OUR PARTICIPANTS ALLOWING THEM TO AGE IN PLACE. SERVICES ARE DESIGNED TO MEET THE PROGRESSING NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS AS THEY MOVE THROUGH THE DIFFERENT STAGES. PARTICIPATION IN ART CLASSES IS DESIGNED TO OFFER A WIDE VARIETY OF EXPRESSIVE OPPORTUNITIES, THROUGH A VARIETY OF MEDIA. EACH INDIVIDUAL'S PARTICIPATION IS CELEBRATED.SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS INTEGRATE INDIVIDUALS INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES THROUGH JOB DEVELOPMENT, JOB COACHING, AND LONG-TERM FOLLOW ALONG SERVICES TO ENSURE SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT. MARC ALSO SUPPORTS SELF-EMPLOYMENT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND PROJECT SEARCH PROGRAMS WHERE PARTICIPANTS COMPLETE INTERNSHIP TRAINING TO LEARN JOB SKILLS WITH A GOAL OF PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT. MARC'S GOAL IS TO PROVIDE AS MANY OPPORTUNITIES AS POSSIBLE IN THE COMMUNITY FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS TO DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS THAT ARE MEANINGFUL.MARC WORKS WITH THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION, DVR, TO ASSIST BOTH RECENT HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES AND ADULTS IN LEARNING AND DEVELOPING JOB SKILLS THAT WILL PROVIDE A FOUNDATION FOR LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT AND INTEGRATION IN THEIR COMMUNITY. THIS INVOLVES DEVELOPMENT OF A PLAN, JOB COACHING, MENTORING/EVALUATING, AND LONG-TERM FOLLOW ALONG. THESE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED THROUGHOUT DANE COUNTY, AND FOR THE PROJECT SEARCH PROGRAM IN SAUK COUNTY. AS WITH ALL MARC PROGRAMS, MARC SEEKS TO SUPPORT FULL INCLUSION IN THE COMMUNITY FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS IN DVR FUNDED PROGRAMS. MARC ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND LOCAL BUSINESSES BY PROVIDING ASSEMBLY AND PRODUCTION SERVICES. SUCH SERVICES ARE EITHER PROVIDED AT MARC LOCATIONS OR ARE ONSITE AT A VARIETY OF LOCAL BUSINESSES. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED WITH SUPERVISION OF MARC STAFF TO ENHANCE INDIVIDUAL'S SKILLS, AND INDEPENDENCE. INDIVIDUALS ARE PAID THROUGH THE MARC PAYROLL AND MARC IS THEN REIMBURSED BY THE BUSINESSES INVOLVED, CREATING AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP EMPLOYMENT SKILLS WHILE EARNING INCOME.
