PROVIDING FOR THE REHABILITATION AND CONTINUING WELFARE OF AMERICA'S DISABLED VETERANS AND FAMILIES.

VETERANS OUTDOORS PROGRAM:THE MISSION OF THE DAV OF MN OUTDOORS PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE DIVERSIFIED OUTDOOR OPPORTUNITIES THAT ENCOURAGES VETERANS WITH DISABILITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES THAT INCREASE HAND-EYE COORDINATION, STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE AS WELL AS ENHANCE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE. THE MISSION OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE RECREATIONAL THERAPY THROUGH EVENTS IN THE OUTDOORS THAT WILL CREATE A POSITIVE EFFECT ON VETERANS AND NOT JUST CREATE A ENTERTAINMENT ENVIRONMENT. THIS FISCAL YEAR, THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTED GETTING OVER 500 VETERANS BACK INTO THE OUTDOORS ACTIVITIES.


TRANSPORTATION:IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT VETERANS ARE ABLE TO RECEIVE THE HEALTH CARE THEY HAVE EARNED FOR THEIR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. THE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM THAT THE DAV MN FOUNDATION SUPPORTED IS TO INSURING THAT VETERANS RECEIVE "FREE" TRANSPORTATION TO HIS OR HER VA MEDICAL APPOINTMENT. IN THIS FISCAL YEAR, THE FOUNDATION GRANTED FUNDS TO EIGHT DIFFERENT TRANSPORTATION PLATFORMS. HELPING OVER 40,000 DISABLED VETERANS GET TO HIS OR HER MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS.


OTHER VETERANS SERVICES:THE DAV VETERANS SERVICE PROGRAMS PROVIDE A RANGE OF BENEFITS AND SERVICES TO VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES INCLUDING HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, COMPENSATION BENEFITS, QUALITY OF LIFE, RECREATIONAL THERAPY PROGRAMS AND MENTAL WELLNESS.
