ENCOURAGE THE PREVENTION OF CRIME, APPREHENSION OF CRIMINALS, PROVIDE FUNDING TO PROMOTE SAFETY, CRIME PREVENTION AND OTHER GOOD WORKS IN THE AREA(S) ESTABLISHED BY THE CPF BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THE SERVICE AREA INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, SOUTHWEST HENNEPIN COUNTY AND NORTHEAST CARVER COUNTY. (1) OFFERING REWARDS FOR APPREHENSION, ARREST OR CONVICTION OF CRIMINALS, (2) MAKING AVAILABLE SPECIAL REQUESTS FOR FUNDING FOR CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAMMING AND MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, OFFICER WELLNESS, SAFETY EVENTS AND ADVANCING COMMUNITY-POLICE RELATIONS IN THE LOCAL SERVICE AREA POLICE DEPARTMENTS FOR NON-BUDGETED REQUESTS CONSISTENT WITH CPF MISSION AND VISION. (3) MAKING AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING SENIORS AND OTHER GRANT REQUESTS APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
