THE ALLIANCE HOSTED IT'S 50TH ANNUAL WASHINGTON D.C. FLY-IN FOR BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS WHO TRAVELED TO WASHINGTON DC FOR INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS PRESENTED BY INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS ON DISCRETIONARY GRANT PROGRAMS, THE INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT AND JOBS ACT AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATES FROM THE MINNESOTA CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION. ALLIANCE STAFF COORDINATED BOTH VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON MEETINGS FOR ATTENDEES TO MEET WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE CONGRESSIONAL MEMBERS. MEETING REGISTRATION WAS OPEN TO ANY INTERESTED ATTENDEE.
THE ALLIANCE HOSTED IT'S 128TH ANNUAL MEETING IN ST CLOUD, MN WITH NEARLY 100 PEOPLE ATTENDING VIRTUALLY AND IN-PERSON. ATTENDEES HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO NETWORK AROUND TRANSPORTATION ISSUES WITH COLLEAGUES FROM STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT, MNDOT, METROPOLITAN COUNCIL, LABOR AND BUSINESS. LEADERSHIP CONDUCTED AN ELECTION OF BOARD MEMBERS, AND ACKNOWLEDGED OUTSTANDING ADVOCACY OF INDUSTRY MEMBERS. SPEAKERS PRESENTED SUCCESSFUL TRANSPORTATION CAMPAIGN STRATEGIES, PROVIDED INSIGHT ON THE IMPACT OF COVID FUNDING AND THE OUTCOME OF THE 2021 ELECTIONS.
THE ALLIANCE HELD FIVE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION SUMMITS PROVIDING MEMBERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET VIRTUALLY WITH THEIR LOCAL LEGISLATORS ABOUT LOCAL TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS AND NEEDS ALL ACROSS THE STATE. THE ALLIANCE TOGETHER WITH MNDOT CO-HOSTED A HYBRID FEDERAL INFRASTRUCTURE PLAN WORKSHOP ATTENDED BY OVER 275 PEOPLE TO EXPLORE THE POLICY AND FUNDING DETAILS, OUTLINE NEW DISCRETIONARY GRANT PROGRAMS AND PROVIDE INPUT AS MNDOT WORKS TO PLAN FOR NEW FEDERAL FUNDS AND NEW POLICY PROVISIONS.
