THE KIDS FUND DIRECTS ITS GRANT-MAKING TO FOUR GENERAL AREAS: ENCOURAGING AND STRENGTHENING POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGH CONSTRUCTIVE LEARNING AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES; ASSISTING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES DEALING WITH CHALLENGES SUCH AS ALCOHOL OR DRUG ABUSE AND MENTAL ILLNESS; HELPING FAMILIES MEET THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES; SUPPORTING FAMILIES, CHILDREN, AND YOUTH BY BRINGING SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES TO LOCAL NEIGHBORHOODS AND COMMUNITIES. DURING THE YEAR, THE KIDS FUND SUPPORTED 60 INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS SERVING HUNDREDS OF DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES.
