"THE SHELTERING ARMS FOUNDATION (SAF) PROVIDED GRANTS AND SUPPORTING SERVICES TO 47 ORGANIZATIONS, WHICH PROVIDED SERVICES TO AND/OR PROMOTED THE WELFARE OF DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN IN THE STATE OF MINNESOTA. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION TAKES LEADERSHIP IN ORGANIZING OTHER NOT-FOR- PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WITH SIMILAR GOALS. THE PURPOSE OF COLLABORATION IS TO EDUCATE EACH OTHER, LEGISLATORS AND THE PUBLIC ON THE NEED FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND THE IMPORTANCE OF HIGH QUALITY AND CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME ACTIVITIES."
