MISSION TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL AID TO FAMILIES GOING THROUGH CANCER TREATMENT. WE HOLD MULTIPLE EVENTS INCLUDING CORPORATE CONTRIBUTIONS WHICH HAS ENABLED US TO PROVIDE GRANTS FAMILIES WHO WERE NEEDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DURING THEIR CANCER TREATMENTS.

DURING 2022 WE DISTRIBUTED A TOTAL OF $139,690 TO IOWA FAMILIES WHO APPLIED AND WERE APPROVED FOR OUR PATIENT SERVICES GRANT PROGRAM. OUR 100% VOLUNTEER GRANT COMMITTEE RECEIVES GRANT APPLICATIONS AND FIRST CONDUCTS DUE DILIGENCE TO BE SURE THE APPLICANT QUALIFIES. THEN WORKS DIRECTLY WITH THE APPLICANT TO DISCUSS THE BEST WAY THESE GRANT FUNDS CAN BE USED TO HELP THEM DURING THEIR CANCER TREATMENTS. THE GRANT FUNDS ARE THEN PAID DIRECTLY TO THE VENDOR FOR BILLS SUCH AS MORTGAGE/RENT PAYMENTS, UTILITY BILLS, VEHICLE PAYMENTS, ETC. BY TAKING THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OFF THEIR MINDS DURING CANCER TREATMENTS ALLOWS THE PATIENT AND THEIR FAMILIY TO FOCUS ON THEIR RECOVERY. THESE APPLICANTS OFTEN FALL UPON DIFFICULT FINANICAL SITUATIONS BECAUSE OF THEIR CANCER TREATMENTS DUE TO LOSS OF JOBS, UNPAID LEAVE, INCREASED MEDICAL BILLS, ETC.
