OUR ORGANIZATION MAKES SHORT-TERM (UP TO 3-6 MONTHS) DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT LOANS AT NO CHARGE WITH THREE FACILITIES THROUGHOUT DOOR COUNTY (STURGEON BAY, NORTHERN DOOR AND WASHINGTON ISLAND). IN 2023 WE SERVED 1944 CLIENTS WITH THE HELP OF 31 VOLUNTEERS (901.5 VOLUNTEER HOURS). OUR PEER COMPANION AND RESPITE CARE PROGRAM OFFERS VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDE COMPANIONSHIP TO OLDER ADULTS WHO ARE LONELY OR ISOLATED, AND RESPITE CARE FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS, ALLOWING FOR A BREAK FOR THE CAREGIVERS AT NO CHARGE. IN 2023 WE SERVED 6 INDIVIDUALS WITH THE HELP OF 4 VOLUNTEERS (184.75 VOLUNTEER HOURS). WE ALSO SPONSOR A LEMONADE CLUB, WHICH IS A GROUP OF CANCER PATIENTS/SURVIVORS AND THEIR LOVED ONES THAT TYPICALLY MEETS ONCE A MONTH FOR FRIENDSHIP AND SUPPORT. WE SERVED 8 CLIENTS IN 2023.
