EARLY CHILDHOOD IOWA - PROGRAM TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND COMMITMENT FOR USING LOCAL, INFORMED DECISION MAKING TO ACHIEVE DESIRED RESULTS FOR IOWA'S YOUNG CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES RESIDING IN IDA AND WOODBURY COUNTIES.


TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP IN RESPONSE TO IDENTIFIED COMMUNITY NEEDS AND COLLABORATIVELY SUPPORT THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH, HUMAN SERVICES, EDUCATION, AND PUBLIC SAFETY IN SIOUXLAND.


CHILD WELFARE - IOWA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES DECATEGORIZATION (DCAT) - DECATEGORIZATION INITIATIVE DESIGNED TO REDIRECT CHILD WELFARE AND JUVENILE JUSTIC FUNDING TO SERVICES WHICH ARE MORE PREVENTATIVE, FAMILY CENTERED, AND COMMUNITY-BASED IN ORDER TO REDUCE USE OF MORE RESTRICTIVE APPROACHES.


BEYOND THE BELL - BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AND SUMMER PROGRAM THAT SERVES CHILDREN FROM PRE-K TO 8TH GRADE. THE BEYOND THE BELL PROGRAMS ARE HELD AT VARIOUS PUBLIC AND PAROCHIAL SCHOOL LOCATIONS IN SIOUX CITY AND SOUTH SIOUX CITY. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES ACADEMIC TUTORING, RECREATION, FIELD TRIPS, ARTS AND CRAFTS, SERVICE LEARNING, FAMILY LITERACY EVENTS, AND OTHER ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES.
