MINISTRY TO OFFENDERS AND STAFF IN PRISON IN TEXAS-44%. THE MAJOR PORTION OF THE PRISON MINISTRY IS WITHIN THE TEXAS DEPT. OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE. CURRENTLY SERVICES ARE PROVIDED IN 7 FAITH BASED DORMS AND OTHER WEEKLY PROGRAMS UNDER THE TDCJ CHAPLAINCY DEPARTMENT. AREAS OF SERVICE INCLUDE REHABILITATION, RECOVERY, MARRIAGE AND FAMILY, AND SPIRITUAL STUDIES. GRADUATES FROM THESE PROGRAMS HAVE A MUCH LOWER RATE OF RECIDIVISM. DVDS AND WORKBOOKS FEATURING RELEASED OFFENDERS FROM OUR PROGRAMS ARE USED IN TEXAS, WISCONSIN, AND OTHER LOCATIONS WITHIN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. PERIODIC OUTREACHES ARE PROVIDED FOR OFFENDERS AND STAFF IN THE CENTRAL TEXAS AREA. MOST PROGRAMS HAVE RESUMED FOLLOWING THE COVID RESTRICTIONS BEING LIFTED.
MINISTRY TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM PRISON-40%. FOLLOWUP IS PROVIDED FOR THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN IN THE DISCIPLESHIP UNLIMITED PROGRAMS UPON RELEASE. AT RELEASE THEY ARE PROVIDED WITH CLOTHES, TOILETRIES, AND A BAG TO CARRY ALL BELONGINGS. THERE ARE GROUPS OF EX-OFFENDERS AND VOLUNTEERS THAT MEET THROUGHOUT LOCATIONS IN TEXAS MULTIPLE TIMES A YEAR FOR ENCOURAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY. THERE IS ALSO A YEARLY LARGE WEEKEND GATHERING FOR ALL EX-OFFENDERS AND VOLUNTEERS.
MINISTRY THOUGHT THE DU RANCH TRANSITION FACILITY TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM PRISON.-16% DU RANCH HOUSES WOMEN THAT HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM PRISON AND USES CLASSES, WORK AND LIVING SITUATIONS TO HELP REINTEGRATE THESE WOMEN INTO SOCIETY AND RECONNECT WITH THEIR FAMILIES. THE PROGRAM IS A 3-6 MONTHS. THERE ARE ALSO PERIODIC TRAINING AND FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR OTHER WOMEN THAT HAVE BEEN RELEASED AS WELL AS FOR DU VOLUNTEERS.
