UNITED WAY OF SHEBOYGAN COUNTY'S MISSION IS TO IMPROVE LIVES AND COMMUNITY CONDITIONS IN MEASURABLE, LASTING WAYS WITH A VISION OF A COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE CAN ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. UNITED WAY IS COMMITTED TO PARTNER WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, GOVERNMENT, AND BUSINESSES TO UNDERSTAND AND SOLVE COMPLEX ISSUES.

IN 2022-2023, FUNDING WAS PROVIDED FOR 40 PROGRAMS RUN BY 23 LOCAL AGENCIES AND 3 COMMUNITY IMPACT INITIATIVES: PROVIDING ACCESS TO HEALING (PATH), COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP FOR CHILDREN (CPC), AND THE VOLUNTEER CENTER OF SHEBOYGAN COUNTY. PATH IS A YOUTH-FOCUSED MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE THAT IS RESPONDING TO THE NEED TO INCREASE ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR YOUTH AND PLACES LICENSED THERAPISTS IN SCHOOLS. CPC RECOGNIZES THE IMPORTANCE OF SUPPORTING FAMILIES DURING THE MOST CRITICAL YEARS OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT (BIRTH TO AGE SIX) WHILE ADDRESSING GAPS AND COORDINATING EFFORTS TO ENSURE CHILDREN ARE KINDERGARTEN READY. THE VOLUNTEER CENTER CONNECTS INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES TO LOCAL VOLUNTEER NEEDS. UNITED WAY ALSO WORKS TO STRENGTHEN THE LOCAL SOCIAL SECTOR THROUGH PROVIDING THE NONPROFIT RESOURCE NETWORK, VOLUNTEER CENTER NETWORK AND EDUCATIONAL TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS FOR NONPROFIT STAFF, BOARDS, AND THE COMMUNITY.
