NEXUS' WORK ENSURES THAT PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN THE ECONOMIC, CIVIC AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES THAT IMPROVE THEIR COMMUNITIES AND ADVANCE RACIAL, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC EQUITY. NEXUS WORKS ON THE EAST SIDE OF ST. PAUL, IN NORTH AND SOUTH MINNEAPOLIS, AND IN THE BROADER TWIN CITIES REGION. NEXUS ADVANCES ITS MISSION BY FOCUSING ON THREE KEY ACTIVITIES: 1. STRENGTHENING ORGANIZATIONS: NEXUS BUILDS THE CAPACITY OF THE COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND THEIR LEADERS TO PROMOTE EQUITABLE AND SUSTAINABLE CHANGE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH FUNDING AND ON-THE-GROUND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. 2. THE ASSET AND WEALTH BUILDING PROGRAM HELPS RESIDENTS BUILD A GREATER INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE WEALTH. NEXUS COMMUNITY PARTNERS WORKS WITH COMMUNITY-BASED GROUPS AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO IMPLEMENT INITIATIVES THAT PROVIDE CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE COMMUNITY WEALTH BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES.
THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM INCLUDES MULTIPLE CONCEPTS AND TECHNIQUES USED TO PROMOTE EXCLUDED RESIDENTS' PARTICIPATION. NEXUS COMMUNITY PARTNERS WORKS WITH COMMUNITY-BASED GROUPS AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO IMPLEMENT INITIATIVES THAT PROVIDE CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE COMMUNITY WEALTH BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES IN COMMUNITY LIFE AND TO STRENGTHEN NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION EFFORTS.
