OUR MISSION IS TO MAKE THE LEARNING OF MUSIC FUN AND AVAILABLE TO ALL PEOPLE - NO MATTER AGE OR BACKGROUND. THE STUDENT SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM, STARTED IN THE FALL OF 2019, ALLOWS LOW INCOME FAMILIES AN OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE PROPER PIANO EDUCATION. PIANO ISN'T TAUGHT IN SCHOOL, AND PRIVATE LESSONS ARE EXPENSIVE. THIS IS OUR WAY OF CONNECTING DONORS TO HIGH WORKING STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PIANO BUT DON'T HAVE THE MEANS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. WE ARE HAPPY TO CONTINUE LESSONS, RECITALS, AND EVENTS VIRTUALLY, DESPITE COVID RESTRICTIONS. THE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM WITH FREE, PRIVATE TUITION EACH WEEK, DONATIONS OF KEYBOARDS AND MUSIC BOOKS. DURING 2022, WE HOSTED OPEN MICS AND DOZENS OF SPRING/WINTER RECITALS AS WELL AS WINTER CONCERTS HOSTED IN RETIREMENT HOMES ACROSS THE AREA, FULFILLING PIANO & MORE'S MISSION OF BRINGING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER WITH MUSIC. CONCERNING THE COVID IMPACT, WE CONTINUE TO MOVE LESSONS VIRTUALLY IF THERE IS COVID CONTACT AND WEAR MASKS WHEN NEEDED.
