UTAH SUPPORT ADVOCATES FOR RECOVERY AWARENESS (USARA) SUPPORTS INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE STRUGGLED WITH SUBSTANCE USE/SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS, AND CONCERNED FAMILY MEMBERS, WITH INFORMATIONAL RESOURCES AND NON-CLINICAL PEER SUPPORT TO FACILITATE ENGAGEMENT WITH RECOVERY. IN 2021 THE FOLLOWING ACHIEVEMENTS WERE ACCOMPLISHED: INCREASED RECOVERY COMMUNITY CENTERS MODEL LOCATED NOW IN 5 UTAH COUNTIES; WEBER, SALT LAKE COUNTY, WASHINGTON, CARBON, AND GRAND (TARGETED RURAL AREAS). (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) PROVIDED RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES (RSS), DELIVERED BY PEER RECOVERY COACHES, WHICH ARE A FORM OF NON-CLINICAL SUPPORT THAT COMBINES THE LIVED EXPERIENCE OF RECOVERY WHO WALK SIDE BY SIDE WITH INDIVIDUALS SEEKING RECOVERY, INTRODUCING THEM TO DIFFERENT TYPES OF SUPPORT TO ACHIEVE OVERALL WELLNESS THROUGH IDENTIFYING AND INCREASING THEIR RECOVERY CAPITAL THROUGH RECOVERY PLANNING, SETTING PERSONAL LIFE GOALS, AND REGULAR SELF-EVALUATION OF ENGAGEMENT. - 4,469 ONE-ON-ONE LONG-TERM PEER RECOVERY COACHING SESSIONS SERVING 1,326 INDIVIDUALS. - 1,366 INDIVIDUAL PEER RECOVERY COACHING SESSIONS CONDUCTED IN ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL AND EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT SETTINGS - 7,408 ATTENDEES IN MUTUAL AID RECOVERY SUPPORT GROUPS - 4,509 RECOVERY WARM-LINE CALLS RECEIVED - AS OF APRIL/MAY 2020 DUE TO COVID-19 WE INCREASED OUR STATEWIDE REACH OFFERING PEER COACHING AND RSSS VIRTUALLY AND VIA PHONE OUTREACH TO OVER 60 COMMUNITY PARTNERS, OFFERING RSS TO PATIENTS/CLIENTS IN A RANGE OF SETTINGS, INCLUDING DRUG COURTS AND OTHER CRIMINAL JUSTICE ENTITIES, HOSPITALS AND EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS, PRIMARY HEALTHCARE SETTINGS, HOMELESS SHELTERS, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT PROGRAMS, ETC. INCREASED FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM SERVICES: - INCREASED TO 23 PROGRAM FACILITATORS: 5 EMPLOYEES, 1 CONTRACTOR, 17 VOLUNTEERS - 296 FAMILY SUPPORT GROUPS PROVIDED, TOTAL ATTENDANCE 2,132 - 96 INDIVIDUAL FAMILY PEER COACHING SESSIONS - AS OF APRIL 2020 WE CONVERTED ALL FAMILY SUPPORT GROUPS TO BE HOSTED ON-LINE DUE TO COVID-19 INCREASING STATEWIDE ACCESS.
