TO BRING CITIZENS, AGENCIES, BUSINESSES, AND GOVERNMENT TOGETHER IN A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO CREATE SAFE, HEALTHY, DRUG-FREE COMMUNITIES

JTNN BELIEVES NUMEROUS STRATEGIES ARE NEEDED TO ADEQUATELY ADDRESS SUBSTANCE ABUSE IN WASHOE COUNTY. ESSENTIALLY, WE BELIEVE THAT ONLY THROUGH A COORDINATED EFFORT WITH OUR PARTNERS, CAN WE MAKE AN IMPACT. JTNN HAS THREE FOUNDATIONAL COMPONENTS TO ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY BUILDING AND PARTNERSHIP WORK TO CREATE HEALTHY THRIVING COMMUNITIES: 1) COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND AWARENESS THROUGH MEDIA CAMPAIGNS, OUTREACH EVENTS, THE WASHOE COUNTY PREVENTION CONFERENCE, AND HEALTH FAIR/PARTNERSHIP PARTICIPATION. 2.) SCHOOL-BASED EDUCATION UTILIZING EVIDENCE-BASED PROGRAMS, A YOUTH GROUP FOR PEER EDUCATION, AND PARENT EDUCATIONS OPPORTUNITIES. 3.) HARM REDUCTION EDUCATION AND PROVISION OF NARCAN/NALOXONE THROUGH THE IDENTIFICATION OF SYSTEMS GAPS AND BARRIERS. 4.) WORK WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AND SPECIALTY COURTS TO PROVIDE RESOURCES AND IDENTIFY SYSTEM BARRIERS. AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS AND PREVNEITON PROGRAMS REACHED APPROXIMATELY 10,000 INDIVIDUALS DURING THE YEAR.
