THE FISCAL YEAR OF 2021/22 HAS BEEN CHALLENGING TO SAY THE LEAST. PARAGON WAS NOT ALONE IN EXPERIENCING ATIME OF UNCERTAINTY FOR OUR HEALTH, FINANCIAL DECLINES AND AN INCREASED STAFFING SHORTAGE CRISIS.PARAGON SUPPORT SYSTEMS INC., PROVED TO BE RESILIENT BY A CONTINUED DELIVERY OF SERVICES FOR OUR 24-HOURRESIDENTIAL SITES AND RESPITE SERVICES FOR FAMILIES. OUR FRONTLINE WORKERS SHOWED GREAT DEDICATION ANDCOMMITMENT WORKING THROUGHOUT THIS PANDEMIC. ALTHOUGH OUR SKILL BUILDING PROGRAMS WERE FORCED INTOTEMPORARY CLOSURES THE DIVERSITY OF SERVICES AND COVID 19 GRANTS HELPED OUR ORGANIZATION TO SURVIVE.PARAGON ALSO SUCCESSFULLY DEVELOPED AN ONLINE SKILL BUILDING PROGRAM REACHING MANY OF OUR ENROLLEESVIRTUALLY BRIDGING ISOLATION WHILE CONTINUING BUILDING THEIR SKILLS AND CONNECTING THEM TO THEIR PEERS. THE ENROLLEES WHO PARTICIPATED IN THESE PROGRAMS WERE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR OUR DETERMINATION TOCONTINUE TO REACH OUR VERY FRAGILE POPULATION AND WERE OFTEN ASTONISHED AT WHAT WE WERE ABLE TOACCOMPLISH FOR THEIR LOVED ONES WHILE KEEPING THEM SAFE, HEALTHY AND ENGAGED.OUR FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS WERE MET THROUGH THESE EFFORTS, AND GRANTS ENABLED US TO REWARD OURFRONTLINE WORK FORCE FOR THEIR BRAVERY AND RESILIENCE, BUT THE STAFFING SHORTAGES CONTINUE TO BE A BARRIER IN OUR INDUSTRY. THIS OBSTACLE CONTINUES TO IMPACT OUR ABILITY TO REACH INDIVIDUALS IN NEED, MANY WHO HAVE BEEN ON OUR WAITING LIST FOR TOO LONG. WE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH MICHIGAN ASSISTANT LIVING ASSOCIATION WHO IS AND HAD HISTORICALLY BEEN AN ADVOCATE FOR OUR SPECIAL POPULATIONS AND ARE ACTIVELY PROMOTING BETTER STAFF WAGES AND INCREASE IN FEES FOR SERVICES THROUGH THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS IN LANSING.WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO CONTINUING TO EXPAND THE ABILITY TO RETURN OUR ENROLLEES TO FACE TO FACE SKILL BUILDING SERVICES IN A PHASED APPROACH AS WE CONTINUE TO BUILD OUR WORK FORCE.
