DURING FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 LEGACY LAND CONSERVANCY PROTECTED AN ADDITIONAL 140 ACRES OF FARMLAND AND NATURAL AREAS THROUGH 4 CONSERVATION EASEMENTS; BRINGING OUR TOTAL OVER A 50-YEAR HISTORY TO MORE THAN 10,084 ACRES OF LAND PROTECTED. IN TOTAL WE HOLD 3,999 ACRES IN CONSERVATION EASEMENTS OF WHICH THERE ARE 91, AND HAVE PROTECTED, BOTH SOLELY AND IN PARTNERSHIPS, 10,084 ACRES THROUGH 150 PROJECTS. PROTECTING THESE LANDS SAFEGUARDS ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER FOR DRINKING AND RECREATION, CONSERVES NATURAL SPACES TO SUPPORT PUBLIC RECREATION, PROTECTS WILDLIFE HABITAT, MITIGATES CARBON RELEASE, AND SUPPORTS THE CONTINUED VITALITY OF OUR LOCAL WORKING FARMS. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE CONTINUE TO INCREASE THE PACE OF CONSERVATION IN ORDER TO SECURE A LAND BASE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS AND ENHANCE OUR REGION'S QUALITY OF PLACE.
