HONORING THOSE WHO SERVED THE UNITED STATES IN THE ARMED FORCES, THE MISSION OF THE GROSSE POINTE WAR MEMORIAL ASSOCIATION (THE "WAR MEMORIAL") IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL, CIVIC, AND PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES THAT ENRICH THE QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH PROGRAMS, SERVICES, AND FACILITIES.

HOSPITALITY - THE WAR MEMORIAL PROVIDES FACILITIES FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES, NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, AND COMMUNITY GROUPS FOR MEETINGS, BANQUETS, AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS. THE WAR MEMORIAL'S HOSPITALITY DEPARTMENT PREPARES AND SERVES ALL MEALS FOR SUCH FUNCTIONS.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - THE WAR MEMORIAL PROVIDES DIVERSE, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS OF ALL AGES. STUDENTS MAY RECEIVE ON-SITE INSTRUCTION CONCERNING A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS THROUGH MULTIPLE OR SINGLE-SESSION CLASSES, LECTURES, AND WORKSHOPS. IN ADDITION, STUDENTS MAY PARTICIPATE IN ESCORTED DAY AND OVERNIGHT TRIPS AND EXTENDED EDUCATIONAL TRAVEL TO A VARIETY OF DESTINATIONS. THE WAR MEMORIAL ALSO OFFERS CONCERTS, PLAYS, DANCES, AND BALLET PERFORMANCES, AND HONORS PATRIOTIC HOLIDAYS, SUCH AS MEMORIAL DAY AND VETERANS DAY, WITH SPECIAL ACTIVITIES.
