Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

TO EMPOWER VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITIES TO RESOLVE GLOBAL HEALTH AND ECONOMIC DISPARITIES AND INSPIRE ALL INVOLVED TO COLLABORATIVELY WORK TOWARDS AN EQUAL WORLD.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

WE IMPLEMENT A HOLISTIC MODEL TO MEET COMMUNITIES' HEALTH AND ECONOMIC GOALS. OUR MODEL SYSTEMATICALLY BUILDS COMMUNITY OWNERSHIP AND COLLABORATIVELY EXECUTES PROGRAMS WITH THE END GOAL OF SUSTAINABLY TRANSITIONING COMMUNITIES TO A RELATIONSHIP OF IMPACT MONITORING. WE EMPOWER PROFESSIONALS AND STUDENT VOLUNTEERS TO WORK ALONGSIDE FULL-TIME STAFF AND COMMUNITY LEADERS TO IMPLEMENT OUR MEDICAL, CLEAN WATER, SANITATION, MICROFINANCE AND LEGAL EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS. EXPENDITURES INCLUDE AIRFARE, MEALS, LODGING, TRANSPORT, SECURITY, TRANSLATORS AND COORDINATION FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS, AS WELL AS STAFFING AND FOLLOW-UP FOR OUR YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS. OUR PROGRAMS WORK WITH COMMUNITIES TO CREATE SUSTAINABLE HEALTH, WASH AND BANKING SYSTEMS, INCLUDING FULL-SCALE CLEAN WATER SYSTEMS, ACCESS TO YEAR-ROUND HEALTHCARE, ACCESS TO LOAN CAPITAL AND SAVINGS ACCOUNTS AND LATRINES, ECO-STOVES AND CONCRETE FLOORS BUILT IN HOMES.

TO CONTINUE EXECUTING VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE HAVE ADAPTED THE MEDICAL AND BUSINESS PROGRAM CURRICULA FROM IN PERSON BRIGADE PROGRAMS INTO VIRTUAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS (TELEBRIGADES). THE SUCCESS OF THE VIRTUAL PROGRAM HAS LED UNIVERSITIES AND SCHOOLS TO OFFER THE PROGRAMS AS A COMPLEMENTARY COMPONENT OF THEIR REGULAR COURSE OFFERINGS. EXPENSES INCLUDE VIDEOGRAPHERS, ZOOM LICENCES, AND ON THE GROUND STAFF (COORDINATORS, TRANSLATORS, DOCTORS) TO EXECUTE AND FACILITATE THE VIRTUAL PROGRAMS.

WITH THE INCREASE OF PROGRAMS BEING INCLUDED AS A COMPONENT OF THE REGULAR CURRICULA FOR UNIVERSITIES AND HIGHSCHOOLS WE HAVE FORMALIZED THIS AS A SEPARATE PROGRAM WHERE GLOBAL BRIGADES ENTERS INTO CONTRACTS WITH THE UNIVERSITIES/SCHOOLS TO EXECUTE PROGRAMS.

WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED A COST RECOVERY MODEL FOR CERTAIN DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS WHEREBY COMMUNITY MEMBER BENEFICIARIES WILL HELP SUBSIDIZE THE COST OF THE PROGRAM BY CONTRIBUTING FEES FOR SERVCIES PROVIDED.
