THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CIVIC AND COMMERCIAL BETTERMENT OF THE COMMUNITY BY THE ENLARGEMENT AND PROMOTION OF BUSINESS INTERESTS, FURNISHING OPPORTUNITY OF ACQUAINTANCE AMONG CITIZENS FOR FREE INTERCHANGE OF VIEWS AND TO SECURE CONCERTED ACTION IN ALL MATTERS OF PUBLIC EVENTS.

TOURISM: MAIN CHAMBER OFFICE DISSEMINATES BROCHURES, MAPS, AND INFORMATION ON AREA PARKS AND VARIOUS INFORMATION TO VISITORS YEAR ROUND (SERVES APPROX. 15,000 PEOPLE). TOURISM ACTIVITIES PROMOTE THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS MEMBER BUSINESSES. (*THE VISITOR CENTER BOOTH WAS CLOSED IN SEPTEMBER 2019.)EACH YEAR THE CHAMBER HOSTS AN ANNUAL DINNER. CHAMBER MEMBERS AND BUSINESS LEADERS COME TO THIS EVENT. THIS ACTIVITY PROMOTES THE FREE INTERCHANGE OF IDEAS, NETWORKING AMONG COMMUNITY LEADERS AND A DISCUSSION ON PLANS FOR THE COMING YEAR (SERVES APPROX. 150 PEOPLE.)OTHER PROGRAMS SERVICES: ANNUAL CHAMBER GOLF OUTING, BARN QUILTS OF DEWITT COUNTY, A FARMER'S MARKET, BUSINESS AFTER HOURS PROMOTIONS AND VARIOUS COMMUNITY STUDIES/SEMINARS. THE CHAMBER OWNS AND OPERATES A HAUNTED HOUSE WHICH BRINGS THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO THE COMMUNITY IN OCTOBER.
