96 COMPLIMENTARY PROGRAMS WERE PROVIDED FOR ATTORNEYS IN DUPAGE COUNTY. THESE PROGRAMS ADDRESSED A WIDE ARRAY OF TOPICS AND ALLOWED ASSOCIATION MEMBERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN THE NECESSARY EDUCATIONAL CREDITS TO MAINTAIN LICENSURE THROUGH THE ILLINOIS SUPREME COURT. 1,950 ATTORNEYS ATTENDED AND CLAIMED CREDIT FOR AT LEAST ONE OF THESE COURSES
THIS COLLABORATION WITH THE 18TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT PROVIDES ACCREDITED NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL SAFETY COURSES TO INDIVIDUALS UNDER COURT SUPERVISION FOR TRAFFIC OFFENSES. COURSES ARE OFFERED IN-PERSON AND ONLINE AND PROVIDED TRAINING TO 3,900 STUDENTS.
LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE (LRS) IS A PROGRAM THAT REFERS THOSE IN LEGAL NEED TO AN ATTORNEY WHO PRACTICES IN THE AREA OF LAW WHERE THEY NEED ASSISTANCE. WITH ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE AT THE ASSOCIATION OFFICES, BY PHONE AND ONLINE, EACH INDIVIDUAL RECEIVING A REFERRAL RECEIVES A COMPLIMENTARY 30 MINUTE CONSULTATION. VOLUNTEER ATTORNEYS ALSO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN THE COURTHOUSE TO SELF-REPRESENTED LITIGANTS WHO NEED HELP WITH ORDERS OR HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING COURT PROCEDURES. 4,400 REFERRELS WERE ISSUED IN 2020-2021.
