THE ASSOCIATION WAS FORMED TO FOSTER AND ADVANCE THE PROFESSION OF LAW, TO ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE REFORM IN THE LAW, TO CULTIVATE THE SCIENCE OF JURISPRUDENCE, TO SECURE THE MORE EFFICIENT ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE, TO ENDORSE AND ENCOURAGE REFORMS IN LEGISLATION, TO ENCOURAGE AND ADVOCATE EFFECTIVE AND THOROUGH LEGAL EDUCATION, TO ENCOURAGE THE CONTINUED EDUCATION OF THE PRACTICING LAWYER, AND TO AFFORD A MEAN OF SOCIAL INTERACTION AMONG THE LAWYERS OF THE STATE OF INDIANA.

SECTIONS AND COMMITTEES: ISBA'S SECTIONS AND COMMITTEES FURTHER THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION BY MORE NARROWLY FOCUSING ON SPECIFIC AREAS OF LAW AND ISSUES RELATED TO IMPROVING THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE. THEY ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL THROUGH TRAINING PROGRAMS, LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITY AND COMMUNITY EVENTS.
ANNUAL MEETING: THE PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHES SEVERAL ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS: MEMBERSHIP ASSEMBLY MEETING, AS REQUIRED BY OUR BYLAWS. HOUSE OF DELEGATES MEETING, AS REQUIRED BY OUR BYLAWS. AND CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO KEEP LAWYERS UP TO DATE ON CHANGES TO THE LEGAL PROFESSION.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY: THE INDIANA STATE BAR ASSOCIATION'S LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY IS A PROGRAM THAT DEVELOPS LAWYERS TO BE INFORMED, COMMITTED AND INVOLVED SO THAT THEY MAY BE EMPOWERED AS LEADERS THROUGHOUT THE INDIANA COMMUNITY, LOCAL AND STATE BAR ASSOCIATIONS, AND AS ROLE MODELS IN MATTERS OF ETHICS AND PROFESSIONALISM.
