Part 3 - Line 1

THE NORTH VALLEY ARTS COUNCIL (NOVAC) SUPPORTS ARTS AND CULTURE FOR THE ARTISTS, ART ORGANIZATIONS AND CITIZENS OF GREATER GRAND FORKS. NOVAC STRIVES TO RAISE THE LEVELS OF APPRECIATION, SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATION IN THE ARTS AND CULTURAL COMMUNITIES WITHIN GREATER GRAND FORKS. WE BELIEVE THAT A VIBRANT COMMUNITY OF ARTS AND CULTURAL GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS AND ENTITIES, AS WELL AS INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS IS ESSENTIAL TO THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND ECONOMIC VIGOR OF THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

NORTH VALLEY ARTS COUNCIL HELD THE GRAND CITIES ART FEST IN JUNE 2015 IN DOWNTOWN GRAND FORKS AND EAST GRAND FORKS. ENTRY FEES WERE COLLECTED FROM PARTICIPATING ARTISTS. THE NORTH VALLEY ARTS COUNCIL SET UP THE SPACE FOR THE FEST, PROVIDED ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION, AND SOLICITED SUPPORT FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN THE AREA. ART FEST GAVE LOCAL ARTISTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISPLAY AND OFFER FOR SALE THEIR ART, AND ALSO OFFERED FREE ADMISSION, PARKING, KIDS ACTIVITIES, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT, AND TWO FOOD COURTS.

THE NORTH VALLEY ARTS ORGANIZED AND SPONSORED ART AND WINE WALKS IN THE GRAND FORKS AND EAST GRAND FORKS CITIES. THE WALKS WERE SCHEDULED TOURS OF VARIOUS DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES, ARTISTS' STUDIOS AND ART VENUES. THE WALKS WERE SET UP TO BRING MORE PEOPLE TO DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES AND TO GIVE REGIONAL ARTISTS MORE EXPOSURE.
