WOMEN'S TREATMENT CENTER (WTC) PROVIDES RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FOR UP TO 41 WOMEN AT A TIME AND IS DESIGNED TO SERVE WOMEN WITH SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS WHO: (1) HAVE HAD PREVIOUS UNSUCCESSFUL TREATMENT EXPERIENCES; (2) STRUGGLE WITH A SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS; (3) HAVE EXPERIENCED SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENTAL AND/OR SITUATIONAL TRAUMA; (4) ARE IMPOVERISHED AND HAVE LONG TERM HOMELESS CIRCUMSTANCES; AND/OR (5) ARE PREGNANT, POST-PARTUM, OR PARENTING. WOMEN RECEIVE COORDINATED BEHAVIORAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH CARE TAILORED TO THEIR UNIQUE NEEDS AND TREATMENT HISTORY WHILE RECEIVING SUPPORT SERVICES FOR LONG TERM RECOVERY FROM OUR SKILLED AND CARING STAFF INCLUDING COUNSELORS, NURSES, MEDICAL DOCTOR, CASE MANAGERS AND PEER SUPPORT SPECIALISTS. WE ALSO PROVIDE MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT) AND PSYCHIATRY. OUR COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES ENSURE THAT OUR CLIENT'S CHEMICAL, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH CARE NEEDS ARE MET AND THAT AT DISCHARGE THEY ARE CONNECTED TO COMMMUNITY SUPPORTS INCLUDING HOUSING, FOOD AND FINANCIAL SECURITY, INSURANCE, AND A SUPPORT NETWORK. LOCATION: ST. LOUIS PARK, MN. IN 2021, 233 WOMEN WERE ENGAGED IN WOMEN'S TREATMENT.
FAMILY TREATMENT CENTER (FTC) MAINTAINS THE FAMILY UNIT BY ALLOWING MOTHERS TO ENTER TREATMENT PREGNANT OR ALONG WITH HER CHILDREN TO AVOID THE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF SEPARATION. MANY WOMEN ARE INVOLVED IN THE CHILD PROTECTION SYSTEM AND ARE WORKING TOWARDS REUNIFICATION OR ENTER TREATMENT WHILE PREGNANT AND DELIVER THEIR BABY WHILE IN OUR CARE. WOMEN RECEIVE SERVICES FOR ADDICTION, PARENTING, UNDERSTANDING HOW THEIR ADDICTION CONTRIBUTES TO THE ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES (ACES) OF THEIR CHILDREN, AND IMPROVING RELATIONSHIP SKILLS TO ACHIEVE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SUCCESS AND ULTIMATELY BREAK THE MULTI-GENERATIONAL TRANSMISSION OF RISK. EVERY WOMAN AND HER CHILD(REN) RECEIVES A CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES COUNSELOR WITH ACCESS TO PEER RECOVERY SUPPORTS AND IN-HOME CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES. WAYSIDE PROVIDES AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN, CHILDREN, AND FAMILIES WITH A CULTURALLY SPECIFIC FAMILY SERVICES INCLUDING CASE MANAGERS, PEER RECOVERY SPECIALISTS, LICENSED ALCOHOL AND DRUG COUNSELORS, AND A MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST EXPERIENCED IN PROVIDING CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. ALL FAMILIES ALSO HAVE ACCESS TO PRIMARY CARE, MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT), AND PSYCHIATRY. THEY CAN ALSO ENROLL IN CASE MANAGEMENT AND PEER SUPPORT WITH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR ONGOING SUPPORT SERVICES IN-HOME FOR UP TO 2 YEARS. LOCATION: MINNEAPOLIS, MN. IN 2021, 89 WOMEN AND THEIR 261 (76 ONSITE/185 OFFSITE) CHILDREN RECEIVED FAMILY TREATMENT.
WELLNESS OUTPATIENT CENTERS (WWC) PROVIDE OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER AND MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT TO WOMEN WHO: (1) ARE FROM UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS OR RECEIVED SERVICES ELSEWHERE WITHOUT SUCCESS; (2) ARE AT AN EARLIER STAGE IN THEIR DISEASE TO DIMINISH CONSEQUENCES OF THE DISEASE; (3) NEED OVERALL HEALTH OF THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES ADDRESSED; AND (4) WOULD OTHERWISE RESULT IN NEEDING EMERGENCY CARE. IN 2020, AS A NEWLY FEDERALLY CERTIFIED COMMUNITY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINIC (CCBHC) WE EXPANDED OUR SERVICES IN THE AREAS OF PRIMARY CARE, PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES, MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT), 24-HOUR CRISIS SERVICES, CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT AND THERAPY, AND SAME DAY ACCESS. FOR EACH CLIENT WE CREATE AN INDIVIDUALIZED TREATMENT PLAN AND MONITOR THEIR NEEDS. THE ADDITION AND EXPANSION OF THESE SERVICES ALLOWS US TO SERVE WOMEN, CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AT WHATEVER STAGE OF NEED THEY PRESENT AND GIVES US FLEXIBILITY TO TRANSITION CLIENTS BETWEEN FACILITIES AND DIFFERENT LEVELS OF CARE TO DIMINISH RECURRENCE OF USE AND PROVIDE LONG-TERM STABILITY. THE CENTER OF BELONGING PROVIDES PREVENTION, ASSESSMENT AND LONG-TERM RECOVERY SERVICES TO HIGH-RISK COMMUNITIES IN SOUTH MINNEAPOLIS. WE HAVE PARTNERED WITH ACE IN THE CITY, FLOURISH FOOD MARKET, EMERGE MOTHER'S ACADEMY, AND RENDER FREE TO CREATE A HOLISTIC COMMUNITY RECOVERY CENTER WITH COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORTS INCLUDING FOOD SECURITY AND NUTRITION EDUCATION, DROP-IN CHILDCARE AND YOUTH ACTIVITIES, HOUSING STABILITY AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING, ACCESS TO COUNTY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS, AND INCLUSIVE SPACE AND SERVICES FOR WOMEN OF COLOR. LOCATIONS: ST. PAUL, MN AND MINNEAPOLIS, MN. IN 2021, 102 WOMEN RECEIVED OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT AND 201 WOMEN AND 14 CHILDREN RECEIVED OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT.
RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES PROVIDED BY COUNSELORS, CASE MANAGERS AND PEER SUPPORT SPECIALISTS, OUR CLIENTS RECEIVE SUPPORT AND ACCESS TO PUBLIC RESOURCES TO COPE WITH DISEASE MANAGEMENT AND LIFE STRESSORS. SERVICES MAY INCLUDE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE; RECOVERY SUPPORT NETWORKS; FINANCIAL AND EMPLOYMENT READINESS; AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE COVERAGE; AND SAFE, AFFORDABLE AND SUPPORTIVE HOUSING. WAYSIDE BELIEVES LONG-TERM SOBRIETY AND STABILITY IN RECOVERY ARE MORE LIKELY WHEN A WOMAN RECEIVES ROBUST RECOVERY-ORIENTED WRAP AROUND CARE. WHILE MOST OF THESE SERVICES ARE NOT REIMBURSABLE, WAYSIDE REALIZES THAT INCREASED CHANCES OF LONG-TERM STABILITY HINGES ON THESE RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES. IN 2021, 651 WOMEN AND 296 CHILDREN RECEIVED RECOVERY SERVICES. LOCATION: ACROSS ALL OUR PROGRAMS. SUPPORTIVE HOUSING (WSH) PROVIDES A BRIDGE FROM RESIDENTIAL AND OUTPATIENT TREATMENT; AND/OR CHRONIC HOMELESSNESS CIRCUMSTANCES TO SUCCESSFULLY RE-INTEGRATE AND STABILIZE IN THE COMMUNITY. WAYSIDE'S LONG-TERM SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM HAS SIXTEEN (16) APARTMENTS FOR MOM AND HER CHILDREN AND (8) SPOTS FOR SINGLE WOMEN. PROGRAMMING INCLUDES PARENTING ASSISTANCE, CASE MANAGEMENT, GROUP AND ONE-ON-ONE ACTIVITIES, PARENT-CHILD PROGRAMMING, COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES, AND INFORMAL SUPPORT NETWORK ALL IN A SAFE AND SOBER COMMUNITY. LOCATION: ST. LOUIS PARK, MN. IN 2021, WE SERVED 26 WOMEN AND 35 CHILDREN FOR A TOTAL OF 61 RESIDENTS. EDUCATION AND PREVENTION PROVIDES EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO PROFESSIONALS, INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILY MEMBERS WHO SEEK INFORMATION ABOUT ADDICTION AND TRAUMA. THE WAYSIDE WOMEN SERVICES ECHO (EXTENSION FOR COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE OUTCOMES) LAUNCHED IN MARCH 2018. WAYSIDE FACILITATES A MONTHLY ONLINE MEETING PLATFORM SO PROVIDERS CAN LEARN FROM EXPERTS ABOUT PRACTICES THAT SUPPORT POSITIVE OUTCOMES FOR WOMEN WITH SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER; PRESENT CLIENT CASES AND RECEIVE INPUT, SHARE SUPPORT RESOURCES AND IDEAS THAT FOSTER COLLABORATION; AND ACCESS COLLECTIVE KNOWLEDGE ON WORKING WITH WOMEN WITH DIVERSE EXPERIENCES AND CULTURAL CONSIDERATIONS. WAYSIDE HAS THREE ECHO HUBS IN THE SUBJECT AREAS OF PEER SUPPORT, WOMEN'S SERVICES AND INDIGENOUS WOMEN WELLNESS. WAYSIDE'S FOURTH FRIDAY FORUM IS A MONTHLY EDUCATIONAL SERIES FOR CLINICIANS, EDUCATORS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND EXECUTIVES. EXPERTS SHARE THEIR KNOWLEDGE ON VARIOUS TOPICS, EXAMINE CURRENT ISSUES, AND INSPIRE HEALTH PROVIDERS TO IMPLEMENT NEW MODALITIES TO ADDRESS CLIENT NEEDS. IN 2021 WE LAUNCHED A MATERNAL AND INFANT HEALTH SERIES TO ADDRESS THE MATERNAL AND INFANT MORTALITY CRISIS THAT IS LINKED TO RACISM AND BIAS IN OUR MEDICAL AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEMS.
