THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED IN 1985 AS A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR AN INTERDENOMINATIONAL NETWORK OF CHURCHES TO ASSIST THE NEEDY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES IN DUPAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS. THE ORGANIZATION ENDEAVORS TO MATCH INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN NEED WITH CHURCHES, VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY AGENCIES BY CLARIFYING NEEDS AND IDENTIFYING WAYS TO RESOLVE THOSE NEEDS.

LOVE HELP/EMERGENCY FUND - PROVIDES LIMITED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DIRECTLY TO A SERVICE PROVIDER TO HELP INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES OVERCOME A TEMPORARY FINANCIAL CRISIS THAT IS IMPACTING THEIR ABILITY TO MAINTAIN THEIR HOUSING, SERVICES FROM A PUBLIC UTILITY OR THEIR VEHICLE TO SUSTAIN EMPLOYMENT. INDIVIDUALS WITH LONGER-TERM NEEDS ARE PROVIDED COUNSELING AND CONNECTED TO SERVICES TO HELP PREVENT OR LIMIT A FUTURE FINANCIAL CRISIS.


MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER: PROVIDES FREE CLASSES TO ASSIST PEOPLE WITH LONGER-TERM NEEDS WHO ARE READY TO MAKE LASTING CHANGES IN THEIR LIVES. THE CLASSES OFFER A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO HELPING THE WHOLE PERSON AND ARE STRUCTURED AROUND 4 MAIN PILLARS OF NEED: EMOTIONAL NEEDS, PHYSICAL NEEDS, RELATIONAL NEEDS AND SPIRITUAL NEEDS.


OTHER PROGRAMS: THE FOOD & FUEL PROGRAM PROVIDES GAS VOUCHERS AND FOOD PANTRY LISTS TO LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS; THE TOY EXPRESS PROGRAM PROVIDES TOYS FOR CHILDREN AT CHRISTMAS; THE LACES WITH LOVE PROGRAM PROVIDE GYM SHOES FOR YOUNG CHILDREN STARTING SCHOOL AND THE BUCKET BRIGADE COLLECTS CLEANING SUPPLIES FOR PEOPLE USING LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES.
