THE MISSION OF NLEI IS TO ADVANCE THE LATINO COMMUNITY'S ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE THROUGH MARKET AND RESULTS DRIVEN EDUCATION, TRAINING, EMPLOYMENT, AND ADVOCACY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TRAINING AND SERVICES NLEI PROGRAMMING IS RECOGNIZED LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY FOR ITS FOCUS ON JOBS OF THE FUTURE, AND EXCEPTIONAL STANDARDS IN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT. NLEI PROVIDES CAREER PIPELINES WITH A PRIORITY ON THE INCLUSION OF LATINOS AND OTHER MINORITIES. NLEI OFFERS A VARIETY OF HIGH QUALITY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AND SERVICES DESIGNED TO MEET THE VARYING NEEDS OF BOTH THE ADULT LEARNER AND THE WORKFORCE SUPPORTED BY CHICAGOLAND'S CORPORATE AND PHILANTHROPIC COMMUNITY. RIGOROUS WORKFORCE TRAINING, SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AND JOB PLACEMENT ARE PROVIDED IN THE INDUSTRIES OF CONSTRUCTION, RENEWABLE ENERGY, PRE-APPRENTICESHIP IN THE BUILDING TRADES, HEALTHCARE, HOSPITALITY AND GENERAL SERVICES. NLEI IS: APPROVED BY THE IL BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION; APPROVED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION; A PARTNER OF THE AMERICAN JOBS CENTER; A NATIONAL CENTER FOR COMPETENCY TESTING (NCCT); A CREDENTIALING PARTNER IN CONSTRUCTION, SAFETY, HEALTHCARE AND ENERGY; APPROVED TO RECEIVE INDIVIDUAL TRAINING ACCOUNTS THROUGH THE WORKFORCE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY ACT.


PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE ECONOMIC ENHANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH EDUCATION, CAPACITY BUILDING, LEADERSHIP AND WORKFORCE SERVICES.


THE BILINGUAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM PROVIDES TRAINING IN SUCH AREAS AS ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY, MEDICAL LAW AND ETHICS, PHARMACOLOGY, MICROCOMPUTER APPLICATIONS, MEDICAL OFFICE PROCEDURES, CPR, AND FIRST AID.


THE MEDICAL OFFICE SPECIALIST PROGRAM PROVIDES TRAINING IN SUCH AREAS AS ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY, MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY, MEDICAL OFFICE PROCEDURES INSURANCE BILLING, CPT/ICD 9 CODING, AND MICROCOMPUTER APPLICATIONS.
