Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
SERVICES: THIS CLUSTER COORDINATES THE ASSOCIATION'S APPLICATION AND TESTING SERVICE PROGRAMS PROVIDED FOR THE BENEFIT OF MEMBER INSTITUTIONS AND THE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF DATA THAT SUPPORT POLICY RESEARCH IN MEDICAL EDUCATION. SERVICE PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE AMERICAN MEDICAL COLLEGE APPLICATION SERVICES, THE MEDICAL COLLEGE ADMISSION TEST, THE ELECTRONIC RESIDENCY APPLICATION SERVICE AND THE VISITING STUDENT APPLICATION SERVICE.
POLICY, STRATEGY, AND OUTREACH: THIS CLUSTER HELPS MEMBERS IN MATTERS VISITING STUDENT APPLICATION SERVICE. OF GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS. THE GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS UNIT ASSISTS THE ASSOCIATION'S MEMBERS AND CONSTITUENTS BY MONITORING LEGISLATION AND REGULATIONS THAT AFFECT ACADEMIC MEDICINE, MEDICAL RESEARCH AND PATIENT CARE, AS WELL AS ADVISING MEMBERS ON INVOLVEMENT IN LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITY AND PARTICIPATING IN COALITIONS WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMIC AND SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITIES. THE COMMUNICATIONS UNIT DEVELOPS INFORMATION, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, AND PUBLICATIONS FOR MEMBERS, THE PUBLIC AND THE MEDIA. WHILE ADVANCING THE ASSOCIATION'S POSITION ON IMPORTANT ISSUES, THIS UNIT BUILDS AND SUPPORTS COALITIONS TO ENHANCE COMMUNICATION OF IMPORTANT MESSAGES TO TARGETED AUDIENCES.
MEMBERSHIP LEARNING AND ENGAGEMENT: MAINTAINS THE ASSOCIATION'S MEMBERSHIP AND CONSTITUENT DATABASE, PLANS AND PROVIDES LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES, OPERATES THE ASSOCIATION'S REFERENCE CENTER AND ARCHIVES, AND MANAGES PUBLICATIONS ORDERING AND FULFILLMENT.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS: THIS CLUSTER HELPS MEMBER INSTITUTIONS IMPROVE THE EDUCATION OF PHYSICIANS ACROSS THE CONTINUUM OF THEIR CAREERS ENABLING THEM TO BETTER MEET THE CHANGING NEEDS OF THE PUBLIC.
