THE NATIONAL COMMUNICATION ASSOCIATION (NCA) ADVANCES COMMUNICATION AS THE DISCIPLINE THAT STUDIES ALL FORMS, MODES, MEDIA, AND CONSEQUENCES OF COMMUNICATION THROUGH HUMANISTIC, SOCIAL SCIENTIFIC AND AESTHETIC INQUIRY. THE NCA SERVES THE SCHOLARS, TEACHERS AND PRACTITIONERS WHO ARE ITS MEMBERS BY ENABLING AND SUPPORTING THEIR PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS IN RESEARCH AND TEACHING. DEDICATED TO FOSTERING AND PROMOTING FREE AND ETHICAL COMMUNICATION. NATIONAL CONVENTION: NCA PRODUCES AN ANNUAL CONVENTION FOR APPROXIMATELY 5,000 COMMUNICATION SCHOLARS. THE CONVENTION INCLUDES OVER 1,200 FORMAL EDUCATION SESSIONS AS WELL AS A VARIETY OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING.
ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES AND MEMBERSHIP: MEMBERSHIPS IN NCA ALLOWS FOR PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION OF SCHOLARS, AND THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES A NUMBER OF RELEVANT RESOURCES INCLUDING CAREER SERVICES, SUPPORT FOR PEDAGOGY, SUPPORT FOR RESEARCH, AND AWARDS, AMONG OTHERS.
