UNITED WAY OF SCOTT COUNTY FOCUSES ON THREE VISION AREAS: INVESTING IN CHILDREN AND YOUTH, PROMOTING HEALTH AND INDEPENDENCE, AND HELPING FAMILIES IN CRISIS. GRANTS WERE AWARDED TO LOCAL AGENCIES WHO OFFER PROGRAMS IN ONE OF THE VISION AREAS.
UNITED WAY OF SCOTT COUNTY ALSO SUPPORTS THE DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY PROGRAM BY WORKING WITH THE SCOTT COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TO RAISE FUNDS THAT PROVIDES A FREE MONTHLY BOOK TO CHILDRENT IN THE COUNTY FROM BIRTH TO AGE 5. THE GOAL IS TO INCREASE CHILDHOOD LITERACY.
