MEMBERSHIP - BHEF INCURS EXPENSES RELATED TO THE BUSINESS OF CONDUCTING MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITY, WHICH INVOLVES RECRUITMENT, RETENTION, AND COMMUNICATION. THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH IN-PERSON PHONE MEETINGS, CORRESPONDENCE, AND COMMUNICATION.
THE JPMC PROJECT IMPLEMENTS PROJECTS WITH BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE (BRT) COMPANIES IN IDENTIFIED REGIONS TO ACCELERATE ACCESS TO COMPETITIVE, READY-TO-WORK LEARNERS WITH IN-DEMAND SKILLS; FOSTER HIGH-PERFORMING INDUSTRY-HIGHER EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS; AND EXPAND BUSINESS COMMITMENTS TO HIRING AND UPSKILLING WITH A FOCUS ON DIVERSE, TRADITIONALLY UNDERREPRESENTED POPULATIONS IN THE WORKFORCE. IN ADDITION TO SUPPORTING THE INDIVIDUAL REGIONAL PROJECTS, BHEF CONNECTS PARTNERS AND CAPTURES LEARNING ACROSS THE DIFFERENT INITIATIVES. THIS KNOWLEDGE CAPTURE WILL ALLOW ALL BRT AND BHEF MEMBERS TO BENEFIT AND LEARN FROM THE ACTIVITIES IN THIS WORK.
ECMC - THE CONNECTICUT DIGITAL TALENT ECOSYSTEM INITIATIVE (DTEI), LED BY THE BUSINESS-HIGHER EDUCATION FORUM (BHEF) AND THE NEW ENGLAND BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION (NEBHE) WITH SUPPORT FROM THE ECMC FOUNDATION, WILL PARTNER WITH CONNECTICUT'S COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY, COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND EMPLOYERS TO DEVELOP NEW CREDENTIALS AND PATHWAYS TO DIGITAL SKILLS, PARTICULARLY FOR UNDER AND UNEMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
HIGHER EDUCATION WORKFORCE INITIATIVE (HEWI) - TO EXPAND OPPORTUNITIES FOR DIVERSE AND UNDER-REPRESENTED POPULATIONS IN THE AREAS OF STEM, DATA SCIENCE, AND CYBERSECURITY.TECH TALENT ACCELERATE SUPPORTS ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS AND BUSINESSES IN CONNECTICUT IN DEVELOPING NEW ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS THAT ADDRESS PRESSING DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY SKILLS GAPS IN THE STATE. BHEF WORKS INDIVIDUALLY WITH COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES AND ALSO CONNECTS PARTNERS THROUGH A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE. BHEF CAPTURES AND SHARES LEARNING WITHIN CONNECTICUT AND ACROSS BHEF'S MEMBERSHIP.CONFERENCES BHEF CONDUCTS SEMI-ANNUAL MEMBER CONFERENCES TO SUSTAIN THE CONTINUING DIALOGUE BETWEEN IT'S CORPORATE AND ACADEMIC MEMBERS AND FOUNDATION AND STRATEGIC PARTNERS ON ISSUES RELATED TO THE HIGHER EDUCATION, BUSINESS TALENT NEEDS, AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT POLICY-MAKERS FROM STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS ARE OFTEN INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE DISCUSSIONS. ACADEMIC, BUSINESS, AND PHILANTHROPIC LEADERS AT THE CUTTING-EDGE OF TECHNOLOGIES AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING PARTICIPATE. MANY GIVE PRESENTATIONS ON SUCCESSFUL LOCAL EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS THAT MAY BE APPLICABLE ON A BROADER REGIONAL OR NATIONAL SCALE.
