NCTQ IS A RESEARCH AND POLICY ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO ENSURING A WELL-PREPARED, DIVERSE TEACHER WORKFORCE FOR ALL CHILDREN. DRIVEN BY THE BELIEF THAT RELEVANT, COMPARATIVE DATA IS FUNDAMENTAL TO IMPROVEMENT, NCTQ WORKS TO INSTILL GREATER TRANSPARENCY AND HIGHER STANDARDS AMONG THE INSTITUTIONS THAT EXERT INFLUENCE AND AUTHORITY OVER TEACHERS: STATES, DISTRICTS AND TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAMS. IN FY22, NCTQ REMAINED COMMITTED TO ITS TWO "BIG BETS" AS THE SMARTEST, SUREST PATH TO A HIGHER QUALITY TEACHER WORKFORCE: 1) IMPROVE TEACHER PREPARATION, AND 2) STRENGTHEN STATE AND DISTRICT TEACHER POLICIES. NCTQ CONTINUED TO SERVE AS THE BEST SOURCE OF DATA ON THE QUALITY OF TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAMS, INCLUDING RELEASING UNPRECEDENTED INSTITUTION-LEVEL PASS RATE DATA ON TEACHER LICENSURE EXAMS AS AN OBJECTIVE MEASURE OF PROGRAM QUALITY.
