THE DOLEMAN BLACK HERITAGE MUSEUM PROCLAIMS THAT THE MUSEUM WILL ENCOURAGE HISTORICAL, BIOGRAPHICAL, GENEALOGICAL AND ARCHEALOGICAL RESEARCH AND INQUIRY, PUBLISH AND DISSEMINATE INFORMATION, COLLECT, CONSERVE AND PRESERVE ARCHIVAL MATERIALS AND ARTIFACTS THAT DOCUMENT THE AFRI-AMERICAN.

THE MUSEUM HAS HOSTED ANNUAL EVENTS SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 2008 TO FURTHER THEIR MISSION TO EDUCATE, ENLIGHTEN, AND SHOWCASE THE STRUGGLES, LIFESTYLES, CONTRIBUTIONS, AND TRIUMPHS OF THE LOCAL AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY. THESE EVENTS ARE THE COMMISERATING MARTIN LUTHER KINGS BIRTHDAY, CELEBRATION OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH, WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH, AND IT'S SIGNATURE CHOCOLATE GARDEN TEA, AND IT'S MASQUERADE BALL WITH A COTTON CLUB TWIST ALONG WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF AN AUTHENTIC JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION TO THE COMMUNITY. ALL THESE EVENTS ARE INTERACTIVE FOR THE GUESTS IN VARIOUS WAYS TO ENSURE THAT OUR MISSION IS MET. THE ORGANIZATION IS CURRENTLY IN A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT FOR GALLERY SPACE TO GAIN CONSISTENCY WITH HOURS OF OPERATIONS, IMPROVE CLIMATE CONTROL FOR ARTIFACTS STORAGE, AND TO PLAN THE REHABILITATION OF ITS NEWLY ACQUIRED BUILDING AT 465 PENNSYLVANIA AVE FOR ITS FUTURE HOME.
