THE OPERATION OF A 139,000 SQUARE FOOT MUSEUM AND VISITOR CENTER. THE GETTYSBURG MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR FEATURES 12 EXHIBIT GALLERIES FEATURING ARTIFACTS, INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS AND HANDS-ON DISPLAYS THAT ENGAGES VISITORS OF ALL AGES WITH CONTENT THAT PLACES THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG INTO THE LARGER CONTEXT OF AMERICAN HISTORY, HELPING VISITORS UNDERSTAND ITS MAGNITUDE AND RELEVANCE.
GETTYSBURG NATIONAL MILITARY PARK INTERPRETIVE AND OFFICE FACILITIES INCLUDE ALL EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING FACILITIES FOR THE INTERPRETATION, STORAGE, RESEARCH AND OFFICE SPACE FOR THE GNMP. THE FOUNDATION ALSO WORKS CLOSELY WITH THE GNMP AND THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE TO PRESERVE LAND, MONUMENTS AND ARTIFACTS AND TO REHABILITATE THE LAND, RETURNING THE GROUND AS CLOSELY AS POSSIBLE TO ITS 1863 APPEARANCE.
